    Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal

It's a sign of how thin on numbers Arsenal's squad is at the moment that they've had to replace forward Beth Mead with defender Jen Beattie.

The visitors were only able to name five subs tonight, because of injuries and suspension.

  2. SUBSTITUTION (Arsenal)published at 54 mins

    Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal

Beth Mead is helped off the field. That's a massive shame. England fans will hope she's fit in time for the SheBelieves Cup in March.

Scotland centre-back Jen Beattie replaces her.

  3. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Liverpool 2-2 Arsenal

Beth Mead looks hurt and is down getting treatment, after a challenge for which Liverpool's Leighanne Robe was shown a yellow card.

This is worrying for England boss Phil Neville in particular - he's watching on from the stands in Chester tonight.

As it stands, this scoreline would move Liverpool a point clear of bottom side Bristol City, who also have a far inferior goal-difference compared to the Reds.

That’s the best possible time for Liverpool to score! They have that threat on the counter-attack through Rinsola Babajide and Rachel Furness was in the right place at the right time to pick that ball up. She didn’t hang around with the strike either... Bang! A goal and an assist for her so far. Arsenal don’t look happy and you can understand why - they are currently five points off the top as it stands.

There's the half-time whistle. Well, it was quite a half of football in the end. Don't go anywhere.

    Rachel Furness

Game on again! It's a fantastic first-time finish from Rachel Furness, who has been magnificent for Liverpool since her winter-window arrival.

Arsenal's Lisa Evans doesn't deal well with a high, diagonal ball and inadvertently heads the ball in to Furness' path and the Northern Ireland midfielder lashes it home to make it 2-2, right on half-time.

Another decent Arsenal move ends with Beth Mead clipping a cross behind, with her delivery landing just on top of the roof of the net.

You have to say, it’s been coming despite Arsenal not really creating too much. Liverpool have been giving the ball away in their own half since the first minute and there was another costly loss of possession before Vivianne Miedema equalised. Then the headed second from Jordan Nobbs was typical Arsenal - they are so good at getting the ball out wide and using their attacking full-backs.

At the other end, Liverpool's Mel Lawley slightly scuffs an effort from a tight angle and it flies over the bar.

    Jordan Nobbs

It's two in two minutes for the Gunners and they've turned it around!

England playmaker Jordan Nobbs clinically heads in from Lisa Evans' left-wing cross. Ruthless.

Arsenal are immediately on the hunt for another now...

  20. goal

GOAL: Liverpool 1-1 Arsenalpublished at 31 mins

    Vivianne Miedema

Who else? She's been quiet tonight but all of a sudden Vivianne Miedema has her 15th league goal of the season and her first of 2020.

After a good move down Arsenal's right, Jordan Nobbs' cross is deflected and the WSL's top scorer is there in the middle to touch the ball past Anke Preuss and in to the roof of the net.
