    Quote Message

Both sets of players are giving a lot to the game, the finishes have been brilliant, the passing has been good, and the effort has been excellent - but a lot of the players are starting to look a little tired out there now, and rightly so

HT: Celtic Women 0-0 Glasgow City

Neither team has got on the scoresheet in the first 45 in the SWPL 1 opener in East Kilbride. The wind and rain have combined to make slick passing football extremely difficult.

In case you missed it, BBC Scotland will be streaming one SWPL 1 match every weekend. The first is on Sunday at 13:00 when Hibernian take on Spartans. Read more.

    What a block.

James Keatings looks certain to score from close range but for a superb block from Mark Connolly.

  10. Double changes for both sidespublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2020

    Dundee Utd 2-1 Inverness CT

I was in the process of telling you all about two substitutions for both sides when Shankland scored that goal.

So for the record, for United Peter Pawlett and Dillon Powers are off for Paul McMullan and Ian Harkes, and for Thistle Miles Storey and David Carson are off for Charlie Trafford and Aaron Doran.

    Cheers, Lawrence...

  11. CLOSE!published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2020

The home side have their zip back. Lawrence Shankland looks up for it as he sets up Louis Appere at the edge of the box who should probably score his second of the game, but his curling effort is all wrong.

Shankland sold both centre-halves, but he still has to finish - and to slam it home like that is excellent. He's had a quiet couple of matches but against the run of play sticks United in front

    Who else?

Against the run of play the Scotland cap bags his 29th goal of the season after he sells two Inverness defenders a dummy and drills a fantastic finish into the bottom corner.

Paul Watson has to clean him out there - he's got the cover from Liam Smith so not a red. Cynical, but a good one to take for the team

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2020

    Dundee Utd 1-1 Inverness CT

Paul Watson takes one for the team as the United defender seethes down James Vincent who looked like he was driving into a promising position.

The resulting free-kick by James Keatings is drilled into the wall.

The away side have started the second half the same way they finished first as they remain on top.

Tom Walsh's effort is gathered easily by Benji Siegrist, but after a poor clearance James Keatings has the Swiss keeper scrambling across his goal to parry the ball away.

The more the game goes on, the more the conditions seem to be playing a part as the rain continues to lash down at Tannadice.

It really is grim out there.

    Quote Message

I've been impressed with Dundee United - they've had good energy. Inverness have stood up to it though and worked their way back into the game. Although they will need to be switched on to keep a tab on Lawrence Shankland - he's stepped up a level from last year and I wouldn't be surprised if he got a goal
