Goodwin says postponement was 'sensible decision'published at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 21 February 2020
St Mirren P-P Heart of Midlothian
St Mirren were due to play Hearts tonight in the Scottish Premiership but the pitch and surrounding areas were deemed unsuitable for the game to go ahead.
St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin agreed with the decision to postpone their match against Hearts with poor weather conditions.
“We’re all disappointed, it should have been a good encounter between two good sides, but unfortunately the weather has got the best of us," he told BBC Sportsound.
“The pitch was only going to get worse as the night went on, so I think the sensible decision was made to postpone it.
“There could be an element of fatigue there, so it maybe could be a blessing in disguise for us [days after an extra-time win during the week over Motherwell]. But we came through that game unscathed to be honest. We would have had a fully-fit squad to choose from.”
