Sadly we still haven't heard from Inverness manager John Robertson. Perhaps he is still speaking to his team...

That is almost all from us tonight. The Scottish Cup coverage continues over the weekend with Hearts v Rangers and St Mirren v Aberdeen tomorrow. Then, holders Celtic go to St Johnstone on Sunday.

You can follow all the action live on the BBC Sport Scotland website, so do come back.

    Thanks for joining us. Cheerio.

  2. 'Delighted to come out on top'published at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2020

    FT: Hibernian 5-2 Inverness CT

Hibernian manager Jack Ross has been speaking to BBC Scotland...

"It was a difficult tie for us," he said. "The expectation and pressure was all on us. We have to handle that and we did it for most parts.

"It was always going to be an open game because of that. A difficult match but one we are delighted to come out on top of."

Hibs winger Martin Boyle, the man of the match, tells BBC Scotland how he feels after tonight.

"It's good, minus the bumps and bruises," he says. "I like to get on the ball as much as I can and make things happen for the team, drawing fouls and make as much impact as I can."

On being booked for diving in the first-half after rounding goalkeeper Mark Ridgers, he said: "I feel like he's made contact and I went down. I've rounded the goalie, I don't see why I'd go down, it's an empty net. It's not been given but thankfully we're in the next round anyway."

  6. 'Nice to do it in style'published at 21:43 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2020

    FT: Hibernian 5-2 Inverness CT

Hibernian midfielder Scott Allan tells BBC Scotland: "Before the game, the target was to get in the next round and we scored some good goals there, so nice to do it in style.

"That's what our fans come to see. Last week wasn't that type of game but it clicked today."

Asked if he can dare to dream of a Hampden final, Allan says they'll take it one round at a time, and forgets what the next round actually is! He laughs it off. Another outstanding display from him.

  8. FULL-TIME- Hibernian 5-2 Inverness CTpublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2020

Seven goals. A missed penalty. A red card. Anything missing?

What a game to start Scottish Cup quarter-final weekend! Hibs have been magnificent going forward. Inverness played their part but were outclassed, particularly in the last 10 minutes after Brad McKay's sending off.

    Reaction coming up.

Three minutes of stoppage time. Many more goals, do you think?

    Nikolay Todorov

    Getting silly.

Obviously it's just a consolation, but something for the travelling fans to cheer. Todorov finishes from close-range after Hibs fail to deal with a corner.

What a finish from the young lad. Takes it first time, right across goal and into the far corner.

    Jamie Gullan

    Flood. Gates.

It's his first senior goal for Hibs! Lovely finish across Mark Ridgers from Christian Doidge's cross.

Every time I go to tell you about some substitutions - Gullan included- a goal goes in!

Martin Boyle - outstanding tonight - has been replaced by Darly Horgan. Gullan replaced Marc McNulty. Decent impact.

    Stephane Omeonga

    Belter!

Greg Docherty jinks his way into the box, turns and puts a perfectly weighted pass to the edge of the area, and Omeonga does the rest. Side-foots it straight into the top corner.

The scoreline is a bit harsh on Inverness, but lovely stuff from Hibs.

That sums up Christian Doidge for me. He misses unbelievable opportunities at times, but never stops getting himself in there.

  16. CLOSE!published at 77 mins

    Hibernian 3-1 Inverness CT

Lewis Stevenson puts in a great delivery and Christian Doidge peels off his marker but heads wide.

Decent chance for the big Welshman. Hibs looking to add more goals.

I think a red card is awful harsh. Yes, he caught him but he was going for the ball.

Man, there's been some amount of action in the last five minutes. My fingers are sore...

  19. RED CARD - Brad McKay (Inverness CT)published at 74 mins

    Hibernian 3-1 Inverness CT

    Maybe not...

A tackle of pure frustration from McKay as he lunges in high on Christian Doidge. The former Hearts player is booed all the way down the tunnel.

    Just when Inverness had scored!

    Carl Tremarco

Hello! Have I jumped the gun here?

Carl Tremarco has space in the box for a shot and it goes in off Paul Hanlon. Might be an own goal. Anyway, is there hope?
