Hibernian head coach Jack Ross: "Inverness CT have cup pedigree and have shown in a one-off tie they are a good side. John encourages his side to play and they will come here with freedom to play, which should suit us.

"As a club we should want that pressure and always aim to win one of the domestic cups. It's not unrealistic. We've tried to embrace pressure in recent months and the players have responded well.

"Steven Whittaker has been really good whenever he's played in that midfield role for us. He was really impressive in both games against Dundee United and hopefully can produce the same tonight. He makes the pitch big with his range of passing."

Inverness have been in the headlines in the last fortnight, for an incident that was not their fault at all.

Cut a long story short, James Keatings had his, ahem, booking for diving overturned after an independent tribunal initially rejected the striker's appeal.

The Scottish FA reconvened the panel, because one member admitted to not considering all the available evidence, and the new bunch made the common sense call that it should not have been a second booking.

Anyway, Keatings spoke this week about his relief at it being overturned, meaning he can now face Raith Rovers in the Challenge Cup final later this season. He starts tonight, too.

What would we talk about if not disciplinary matters? Football, maybe?

Inverness CT manager John Robertson is a Hearts legend and gave Hibs plenty of bother as a player. He is the top scorer in Edinburgh derbies after all. Asked if he wants to continue in that vein tonight, he told BBC Scotland: "That's the plan. It's going to be very tough. Hibs are on a great run with Jack Ross in charge.

"Their record at Easter Road has been up and down, they've coughed up a few leads here. We've looked at that and said to the players that's a positive. Stay in the game, give ourselves a chance.

"And we've just told them to go out and be brave. Just be brave, go out and show what you're capable of and let's see where it takes us. Last year it took us all the way to the semis, and we want to try and do that again.

Hibs fans, I know you usually don't care one bit about Hearts. But you're going to want to pay attention to their result against Rangers tomorrow. If it's a draw, the replay will have to be played on Wednesday, meaning the scheduled Edinburgh derby in the league at Easter Road on Tuesday will have to be postponed.

That's because Rangers are in Europa League action the week quarter-final replays are penciled in for.

These teams are the most recent to have lifted the Scottish Cup before Celtic firmly locked the trophy away, having won it for the last three years.

In 2016, Hibernian ended a then-infamous 114-year wait for the Scottish Cup with THAT David Gray header in the last minute to beat Rangers 3-2.

The year before, Inverness beat Celtic in the semi-final before going on to lift the first major trophy in the club's history by overcoming Falkirk in 2015.
