Silky stuff from Ryan Kent as he does a couple of step-overs and draws a foul right on the edge of the box. A few candidates are lining this one up...
George Edmundson
Hello! What do we have here?!
George Edmundson leaps into the air totally unmarked to steer James Tavernier's corner off the post and in.
They can't do it again? Can they?!
Rangers 0-2 Bayer Leverkusen
Scott Arfield takes one for the team by hacking down Kai Havertz as he glides towards the Rangers goal. He's some player.
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
Rangers have to go for this now. Ianis Hagi comes on for Glen Kamara.
Leverkusen will just try to keep the ball now.

Quote MessageEven if Allan McGregor does try to dive he was never getting that one. Charles Aranguiz gets the body right over the top of it as it drops, and smashes it into the ground
Charles Aranguiz
Some finish son.
Just after Steven Daivs had cleared Aranguiz's volley off the line, he scores moments later. James Tavernier does really well to hook a dangerous ball away from goal, but it falls to the Leverkusen midfileder and he catches it on the volley inside the box and it glides into the corner.
Gutting for Rangers, they were playing well.

Quote MessageFlorian Kamberi was really unselfish to look for Alfredo Morelos there - but I thought he was in a good enough position to smash it across the goal. It was a really strange choice. Normally the striker's instinct is 'where's the goal?'
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
What a tackle by Jonathan Tah.
Florian Kamberi steals possession on the right-hand side of the box, drives towards goal and rolls it across the box for Alfredo Morelos, who is waiting to tap it home.
Not on Tah's watch, though. He slides in brilliantly to snuff out the danger.
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
It's like watching a different team in blue in this half.
A dangerous ball in from the right causes Leverkusen a few problems but they scramble clear. If Rangers can just find that final pass, a goal is there for them.
Karim Bellarabi is replaced by Leon Bailey for Leverkusen. They'll have to watch his pace on the break.
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
Rangers have upped the intensity a couple of notches now, as they press Leverkusen and snap into tackles. Much better.

Quote MessageMorelos has got to score that - I think it would have hit the side netting. Terrible miss. It's the most natural thing to do, hitting it across the keeper
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
Rangers' best moment so far!
James Tavernier rampages down the middle of the pitch, slips through Alfredo Morelos who forces Lukas Hradecky to push the ball wide.
The crowd have come alive! A couple of corners then come to nothing.
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
Really tenacious stuff by Ryan Kent to shrug off two Leverkusen players and whip a ball towards the back post.
Alfredo Morelos stretches and makes contact, but it runs wide of the goal.
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
Joe Aribo makes way for Florian Kamberi as Steven Gerrard looks to add to Rangers' attacking threat.

Quote MessageRangers are trying to get 10 yards further up at the start of the half, to put some pressure on to maybe nick something a bit higher and create more
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
Rangers manage to get the ball away from their box after a nice passing move by Leverkusen, which involved Kai Havertz. But Kerem Bellarabi can't pick out two red shirts in the box and the chance is gone.
Rangers 0-1 Leverkusen
A couple of mis-placed passes by Leverkusen around their own box gifts Rangers some early territory, but they can't conjure anything of note.
Already much more intent from the home side, though.
Rangers 0-1 Bayer Leverkusen
Here we go! What do you reckon? Another rousing comeback?
