  1. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Good opportunity for Rangers from a free-kick, as Mitchell Weiser trips Borna Barisic. Might have been a yellow there...

Anyway, Barisic hits the free-kick straight out from the wide-left position. Really poor.

  2. Morelos putting in the workpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2020

Alfredo Morelos is working very hard up there. He can sometimes be moody, mean, and amble around, but he's sprinting everywhere - and what a take it was when he brought that through ball down

  3. YELLOW CARD- Glen Kamarapublished at 18 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Glen Kamara goes into the book for a naughty challenge on Mitchell Weiser. He'll miss the second leg now.

Just before that Morelos run, Kerem Demirbay put a dangerous cross right across Rangers' six-yard box, but there were no red shirts in there.

  4. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Ooft, Alfredo Morelos almost gets onto the end of a through ball over the top, but Leverkusen centre-half Aleksandr Dragovic gets back to clean up.

  5. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Rangers win the ball and counter, but it's too slow and three red bodies swarm Glen Kamara, who ends up conceding a throw-in. Rangers will need to be a bit more efficient when they get the ball if they want to socre!

    0-0 does suit them, mind.

  6. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

It's a game of keep-ball at the moment...

  7. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Another decent chance for Karim Bellarabi! A lovely ball down the side of James Tavernier allows a cross to come in towards Kai Havertz, who flicks it to his striker about eight yards out.

However, his shot is blocked. The corner comes to nothing.

  8. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Fairly low-key start. The visitors are stroking the ball around, but Rangers are shifting nicely in their shape to limit the space.

Rangers are sitting off Leverkusen which is what you expect - the away side look like they can play and are looking technically brilliant. Demirbay should have hit the target for me in that chance, but they look a great team

  10. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Rangers get their feet on the ball for the first time, and Ryan Kent scampers down the left, before the attack eventually breaks down.

That might have settled any nerves for Rangers, though. They hadn't touched the ball in the first two minutes.

  11. CLOSE!published at 1 min

    Rangers 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Good chance for Leverkusen early on as Kerem Demirbay cross for Karim Bellarabi at the back post, but he volleys over the bar.

It looks as though Rangers are going to sit and let the visitors pass around at the back, then press in their own half.

    We're off, and Ibrox roars!

  14. 'If we get this crowd with us it's a big help' - Gerrardpublished at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2020

    Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen (20:00)

Rangers' last Europa League tie at Ibrox didn't exactly go to plan in the first leg against Braga, when the Portuguese side scored two goals in the first half.

However, Steven Gerrard is confident that his side have learned their lessons from the last round:

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: "In the second leg against Braga we put our foot to the floor and we got the crowd on the edge of their seats. I know that if we can get this crowd with us it's a big help.

"We didn't start the game right against Braga, we did things individually rather than think about the team, but once we got our structure right we were a lot better. So we need to do that from the first whistle tonight. Hopefully that will stop us going two goals behind. We know we can create chances and we have people that can finish them."

Alfredo Morelos looks like a player who has lost interest in Scottish football - his goal scoring record since the break has been feeble. Connor Goldson is meant to be a leader in the team - he's been pathetic at the back for a while. There is a litany of weak characters in the lineup

  16. Gerrard looking forward to "interesting" showdownpublished at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2020

    Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen (20:00)

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard believes his side can only compete tonight if they're able to match the levels Bayer Leverkusen play at every week in the Bundesliga.

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: "I think we have to find the level that's, first and foremost, capable of competing and being a similar if not better level than what Leverkusen play at most weeks.

"That will be the challenge for us, we know they've got good players and a manager with a good system. But we've been here before. We believe they will play a back five, which is what we've played in the last rounds. So we know where our battle plan will be. I'm really looking forward to this. It will be interesting."

  17. Kai Havertz: the golden boy of German footballpublished at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 12 March 2020

    Rangers v Bayer Leverkusen (20:00)

Attacking midfielder Kai Havertz is one of the hottest properties in European football right now. At just 20 years old, he already have over 100 first-team appearances for Leverkusen and is the heartbeat of their side. He's been linked with moves for over 100 million euros.

And after a slightly underwhelming first half of the season, he has been in great form since the winter break. If Rangers can frustrate him, they'll have a chance.

Alfredo Morelos has scored just once since Boxing Day.

Alfredo Morelos has shown in most of the European games this season what he can do, especially at Feyenoord. He is very capable at this level but has to start delivering right now

The issue is a puzzler for the SFA. But this is not going to be an issue decided on by football. I'm slightly surprised the Old Firm is going ahead on Sunday, but this is an issue decided by government. It's questionable whether the domestic league finishes now
