Dundee Utd 3-4 Motherwell
United have seen plenty of the ball, nothing to threaten the Motherwell goal, though. Ten minutes to go.
And, in another desperately short turnaround, we are off and running. Dundee United have 15 minutes to save the cup final.
Ally Maxwell has 15 minutes to stay vertical.

Dundee Utd 3-4 Motherwell
How is Ally Maxwell still standing? The Motherwell goalkeeper is somehow still on the park after being clattered in the second half. He has just thrown himself to the ground to smother a Darren Jackson shot. This is incredible.
Dundee Utd 3-4 Motherwell
Fair chance this game may finish 10-10 at this rate. It just won't slow down.
United are going long in their hunt for an equaliser, understandable as we approach half-time in extra-time. But Motherwell are gobbling up the ball, with Davie Cooper putting in a defensive shift. A rare sight.

Quote MessageWhen I watched it the first time I thought right away that it was a foul on the goalkeeper. But we are very fortunate to watch it on the replay and I think the goal should have stood.

Steve Kirk
HE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!! STEVE KIRK!!The substitute who has scored in every round so far for Motherwell may well have landed the Fir Park club their second ever Scottish Cup just four minutes into extra-time.
A floated corner from Davie Cooper is fumbled in a ruck of bodies by Alan Main. Kirk, just a few yards out, strains his neck muscles to usher the ball beyond Darren Jackson on the line.
Dundee Utd 3-3 Motherwell
A great save from Alan Main who gets down low to deny Stevie Kirk. Some real intent from Tommy McLean's team with a bit of a reshuffle.
Meanwhile, Ally Maxwell has completely given up on goal kicks - potentially at the advice of the club doctor who was working on him at the end of the 90 - with Tom Boyd now taking them.

Quote MessageIt's amazing, Dundee United looked dead and buried at 3-1. The balance is probably in their favour now.

Quote MessageI really can't believe it. We're going to get another 30 minutes, we're going to get a feast I think. I don't know who to put my money on.

Hold on to your shellsuit, here we go again...
Dundee Utd 3-3 Motherwell
The Motherwell backroom staff have just ambled on to the pitch with some fine china and a kettle. As you do.

While we wait during a short break in play, let's take a look at what else is taking place today on 18 May, 1991...
Dundee Utd 3-3 Motherwell
Somehow, goodness only knows how, but we are going to extra-time.
Remember, Motherwell were two goals up with 25 minutes left with a badly-injured goalkeeper. He is still between the sticks, but Darren Jackson's 90th-minute leveller has gifted us another 30 minutes.
Don't take your eyes off this.
Dundee Utd 3-3 Motherwell
Quote MessageIt's a tremendous goal from United. Darren Jackson knows the goalkeeper is going to hit him, but he's so brave.

Darren Jackson
Wow. Just, just... wow.
Dundee United were dead and buried in this game, now they are level with seconds to play. Motherwell only have themselves to blame. With just 14 seconds left on the clock and on a counter attack, a wasteful Dougie Arnott through ball is gathered by Alan Main.
The United keeper launches a monstrous scud down field that bounces all the way towards the Motherwell box. The injured Ally Maxwell hurtles off his line, but Darren Jackson nips in first, heading the ball into an empty net, cleaning out the Motherwell keeper in the aftermath.
My word.
Two minutes of regular time to play...
Dundee United 2-3 Motherwell
Quote MessageTremendous bravery from Ally Maxwell. The cross comes in, he should punch it but instead he catches it. I think Tommy McLean is shouting at his players to offer the goalkeeper more protection.
