That is breathtaking and it could be game, set and match. What is remarkable is his calmness for his age. Lovely touch by Giroud and Mbappe doesn't have to even break stride. He plays like a man full of confidence in his own ability. What a footballer this young lad is."

It is the Kylian Mbappe show!

What a performance from the youngster, who this time arrows a low-first time effort from Olivier Giroud's pass into the bottom corner.

The fifth goal of an incredible second half and there's still more than 20 minutes to go!

  4. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 66 mins

    France 3-2 Argentina

Argentina have done well to score two goals without an out-and-out striker on the pitch but now they are behind again it is Sergio Aguero time. The Manchester City striker replaces Enzo Perez.

    France 3-2 Argentina

    Danny Murphy
Former Liverpool and England midfielder on BBC Match of the Day

He has been the best player on the pitch. Great skill in the box and he has a go with his left foot, but the keeper has to do better. It's a bad mistake. But Mbappe is the difference and he is the superstar of this team.

This game is the gift that keeps on giving!

Lovely finish! Once again Lucas Hernandez is able to get a cross in from the left, the initial shot is blocked but Kylian Mbappe picks up the loose ball, knocks it through the defence before coolly firing a low finish under the keeper.

    France lead!

Alexanderjourno: I still get really disappointed that Argentina did not play their best players enough. Where is Aguero? Why no Dybala? They weren't blessed in midfield so just play your best players to have the best chance.

Brilliant ball from Matuidi initially and then it's a good cross. At first, you think take a touch, but look at that for a strike. We are being spoiled today with the goals and the tempo of football. We've got it all.

Oooh big escape for Argentina. Comedy defending at the back as Federico Fazio, who has just come on, hits a pass back past Franco Armani. Antoine Griezmann tries to pounce but Armani just manages to deal with the danger and spare his team-mate's blushes.

Did Kylian Mbappe use up all his energy in the first half? He was running the show but has been very, very quiet so far in this half.

He swings a free kick in, decent delivery, but Nicolas Otamendi powers a header away.
