  2. 8. Liverpool 1984published at 14:12 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

Liverpool wore a near-identical home shirt from 1983-1985, but this sponsorless edition worn for the 1984 European Cup final in Rome stands out

Joe Fagan's side beat Roma on penalties that night, and the famous shirt was used to inspire the Reds' 2019-20 kit.

Andy Maxwell:I was 6 in 1971 and the Ajax kit was so iconic. And we got a colour telly at the end of the year and could see the red properly.

  5. 9. Ajax 1971published at 14:01 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

Simple but an absolute beauty. It was in this kit that Ajax beat Panathinaikos 2-0 at Wembley as they won the first of three consecutive European Cup finals.

Mark Chee: Although the "Keegan shirt" was probably our most iconic top, this is my all-time favourite #SaintsFC, external shirt and it now fits my son...

A bit of love for Saints' kits today...

  8. 10. Man Utd 1990published at 13:47 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

    I really love this one.

Man Utd have had some great shirts over the years but this one is truly unique.

The Aztec-style graphic on the away shirt was a fans' favourite and remains popular today. You'll always see the odd few football hipsters rocking this at Glastonbury (not this year though, sadly).

Gary Hockney: England 1990 for the bittersweet memories of the tournament. Like the team, my shirt promised a lot but ultimately brought me to tears after my mum washed it with colours and it went pink!!!

Anon: England's Third shirt (blue) World Cup 1990, lucky enough to have an original in my collection that I'll never part with!

Morris: Easily the best England shirt ever produced.

A lot of love for the blue Three Lions shirts. Time to bring it back?

Chris, Bristol: England's Third shirt (blue) World Cup 1990, lucky enough to have an original in my collection that I'll never part with!

Anon: I love the Arsenal '91 kit. It's quite symbolic to Arsenal fans and is often remembered because many legends wore it such as Ian Wright. I love also how Adidas is bringing that theme back but for me for sure this is the best kit.

Michael Garwood: Found the original 1990 England 3rd kit in an old bag in the loft this week. Bought it in a charity shop in Stoke in 1999. A thing of beauty

    Cheers Michael!

  16. 11. England 1990published at 13:26 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

Upset of the day! Didn't even make the top 10.

Bobby Robson's side reached the semi-finals at Italia 90 in the World Cup that had it all. From Paul Gascoigne's tears in Turin and THAT Chris Waddle penalty miss, to Gary Lineker's vital goals, there are so many memories attached to this England shirt.

Special shout out to the blue shirt which never featured at Italia '90, but it's an absolute belter. You know the one.

  18. 12. Chelsea 1970published at 13:16 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

To avoid a clash with Leeds in the 1970 FA Cup final, Chelsea swapped their usual white socks, shirt piping and club badge to yellow.

They went on to win 2-1, lifting the famous trophy for the first time in the club's history. To celebrate the 50-year anniversary, the Blues wore a one-off modernised commemorative replica kit for their third-round home tie with Nottingham Forest in 2020.

That replica worn this year was incredible. Well played Chelsea.

  20. 13. Denmark 1986published at 13:08 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

Denmark made their World Cup debut in style. Much like the shirt's split panels, the design divided opinion back in the day. But it was the first of its kind - Coventry and Southampton were among the clubs who later wore similar designs.

Anyone own either of those three?
