I'm a big fan of those making the effort to send in their photos wearing their favourite shirts by the way.

Keep them coming on #myfavouritekit, external

I'm sat in the garden in Colombia's 2018 home shirt, which on reflection wasn't the best choice given the colour and all the bees/wasps around.

Indra Yudhipratama: I'll go with 15/16 Sheffield Wednesday home shirt. A lot of memories with this shirt

Ahh, heartbreak in the end Indra! But what a season under the legend that is Carlos Carvalhal!

  3. 14. Boca Juniors 1981published at 13:00 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

I'd love to get my hands on one of these.

This shirt screams Diego Maradona. It was the first shirt to feature Boca's four-star crest alongside their famous blue and gold colours.

Adidas really pulled it out of the bag with this one by producing a shirt that is still sought after almost four decades later.

We can't forget some of the epic goalkeeper shirts we've seen over the years.

These three say it all really when it comes to the nineties...

Have you got any retro 'keeper shirts in your collection? If so I want to see them.

Mark in Worcester: It's the Danes of 1986 by a mile - their style of shirt, like their style of play , burned out in a blaze of glory to never be repeated or forgotten.

Michael, Molesey: Deportivo La 1992-93 shirt for me, unique, iconic and my favourite.

Anon: Are we overlooking all the quite spectacular goalkeeper kits over the years? Surely Euro 96 3rd kit gets a mention..... Used to have this and got called a bag of Refreshers! (Other sweets are, of course, available)

That last point takes me perfectly into my next entry...

  7. 15. England women 2019published at 12:44 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

This release before the 2019 Women's World Cup created huge hype.

It was the first time the Lionesses had their own exclusive kit, and the rose detail on the crimson shirts made it truly unique.

  9. 16. Cameroon 2002published at 12:36 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

There was a lot of love for this one when Wednesday's vote opened.

One-of-a-kind, but Cameroon's controversial sleeveless shirt didn't go down well with everyone.

It was banned by Fifa for the 2002 World Cup in Japan because 'they're not shirts... they're vests'.

Luke Bradshaw: If this doesn’t make the list my head is really going to go.

It was a contender to be fair. As was the women's polka dot 2019 away shirt. Both absolute crackers!

Joshua Cameron: Cameroon 2002 with no sleeves was a game changer. Loved it.But also I was given the green Barca kit with L.Enrique 21 at the back. So that one, Barcelona 97 for me

Matt Eddie: Can't choose between Holland, Germany and Barca. Three of the best ever.

Josh Mckeown: I've always loved the Ajax home shirt design, Just something about it.

Still a lot of love for that Barca shirt though.

It's hard to find a bad Barca shirt from over the years but this away kit is a gem, and synonymous with Ronaldo, as this was the only season he spent with the Catalan giants.

Worn in the 1997 Cup Winners' Cup final where the Brazilian's penalty was enough to beat Paris St-Germain in Rotterdam.

  14. 18. Colombia 1990published at 12:17 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

One of my personal favourites, but there was some tough competition.

Colombia always have great kits and they arrived at the 1990 World Cup after a 28-year hiatus from the competition with this absolute belter.

The iconic design was used to inspire Los Cafeteros' shirt for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Gordon from Northampton: Bobby Moore in the red and white of England with the Jules Rimet Trophy gleaming in his safe hands. The epitome of cool.

Jed Fry, Bath: One shirt not there that I feel should be - the Croatian red and white chequered number - iconic and unique !

  17. 19. Belgium 1984published at 12:10 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

Quite surprised this one didn't make it higher.

Although the 1984 European Championships were forgettable for the Belgians, who didn't make it out of the group, this shirt lives long in the memory. The national team brought back the diamond design to inspire their 2018 World Cup kit.

  20. 20. Mexico 1978published at 11:59 British Summer Time 16 April 2020

    Someone had to come last.

It seems the story behind this one is more iconic than the shirt itself. After missing the 1974 World Cup, Mexico arrived at Argentina 1978 in style. Their kits were designed and made by American denim giants Levi's, which in itself is pretty cool.
