    Brazil 0-0 Germany

Brazil, like their yellow shirts, have made a bright start earning a corner in the first minute.

    They're pumped for this.

    Brazil 0-0 Germany

Away we go in our first semi-final in Belo Horizonte.

Germany, in black and red, get the ball rolling.

  3. 'Brazil to win'published at 15:10 British Summer Time 31 May 2020

    Alan Shearer
    Former England captain in Brazil

Brazil have home advantage. They will obviously play for Neymar and they'll be playing to get to the final for captain Thiago Silva. They also have a wily old man in charge who has done it before. It'll be a long night, but Brazil will win it.

    Anthems o'clock.

    Two of the best ones??

The Estadio Mineirao is a sea of yellow, all bellowing out the Brazilian national anthem in unison.

    Wow, spinetingling even now.

  5. Luiz has a mistake in himpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 31 May 2020

    Alan Hansen
Former Scotland and Liverpool defender in Brazil

I like Luiz Felipe Scolari. I think he is pragmatic, single minded, immune to criticism and stands or falls by his results.

David Luiz's concentration levels have to be 100%. In this tournament he has done alright, made some good interceptions, but at this stage one mistake could be fatal and you always feel there is a mistake there.

  6. Who will stand up for Brazil?published at 15:05 British Summer Time 31 May 2020

    Rio Ferdinand
    Former England defender in Brazil

Brazil are missing their two best players. Now it's a question of who is going to stand up and take responsibility. Will David Luiz step up and organise the back four like Thiago Silva does and who is going to add the flair? They are the questions that will be asked today.

  7. Mouth-wateringpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 31 May 2020

    Alan Hansen
Former Scotland and Liverpool defender in Brazil

I don't think we have seen a great team yet and that is usually to the detriment of the tournament. But you have got any one of the four sides in the semi-finals who could win it, it is wide open. Germany v Brazil are two of the giants of world football vying for a place in the World Cup final in Brazil. That is a mouth-watering prospect.

I didn't see the game! I was flying to America for my best mate's wedding and only found out about it when someone I had asked told me what the score was. I couldn't believe it! Genuinely thought the guy was having me on which I didn't need after an 11hr flight...

    Germany

Germany are unchanged from their quarter-final win over France - so Miroslav Klose starts up front.

Germany XI: Neuer, Hoewedes, Hummels, Boateng, Lahm, Khedira, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Ozil, Muller, Klose.

    Brazil

There are three changes for Brazil, with Bernard getting the nod to replace Neymar, who broke his back in the quarter-final win over Colombia. Thiago Silva is suspended so David Luiz skippers the side.

Brazil XI: Julio Cesar, Maicon, Dante, David Luiz, Marcelo, Luiz Gustavo, Fernandinho, Bernard, Oscar, Hulk, Fred.

Welcome to today's edition of World Cup Rewind.

We will be going to back 2014 this afternoon when Brazil were taken apart and humiliated in their own back yard by Germany.

The way in which Brazil capitulated in the face of the powerful Germans makes it one of the most sensational matches in history.

(It's the first time I'll be watching the game in full, don't ask!)

I want to hear you comments of where you were, what you remember from the game. Usual channels, #bbcfootball, external and 81111 (UK only). Remember to put names on texts.

    And then there were four.

One step away from smelling the biggest prize in world football.

Hosts Brazil - in search of their sixth World Cup star - have impressed in their home tournament so far but come up against a formidable Germany side.

It should be a tight, tense encounter in Belo Horizonte.
