"I had a barren run but as soon as the first goal goes in a few more usually follow."

England manager Terry Venables: "There was very little that did not please me. The team work and the movement pleased me particularly.

"The second half performance against Scotland gave the lads some more belief. In saying all that it doesn't make us a great team, it sends us into the quarter-finals but I will probably have an extra cup of tea tonight."
