    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

    Ohh it should be two!

Still up from a corner, Eric Dier drills a shot into the box which falls for centre-back Davinson Sanchez six yards out, but the Colombian flicks his shot over the crossbar.

Needed Harry Kane on the end of that to bury it.

Brilliant ball in from the right-hand side. Son Heung-min was in a mile of space, it is a really good header. He really controlled it but David de Gea - what save. That is a goal-saving save. Brilliant.

It was a really hard-hit strike for the goal but the quality of David de Gea I would expect him to save. I think he was caught in two minds but that save was a brilliant reaction. It is a sign of a top goalkeeper that if he does make a mistake he can pick himself up.

That is what Steven Bergwijn does. Pace, power and a fine finish. David de Gea got a heavy touch on it. Could he have done better?

OK I'll answer my own question - yes.

Manchester United had been the better side up to that point, with Marcus Rashford looking dangerous.

  5. GREAT SAVE!published at 32 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd

    WHAT A SAVE!!

If he was at fault for the goal then David de Gea has just made up for it with an incredible save.

Moussa Sissoko has so much room down the right, looks up and picks put Son Heung-min at the far post.

The South Korean has time to pick his spot with the header, loops it towards the back post but De Gea springs high into the London sky to tip the ball over the crossbar.

Sushant Shetty: As loyal as I'm to DeGea ..I think it's time for a change. Too many mistakes. Time to get Henderson.

Daddy Aisosa: De Gea should have saved that shocking display

Thomas Knights: Maguire and De Gea hopeless, long break or not, Maguire moved like a snail.

  7. CLOSE!published at 29 mins

    United level almost immediately.

Fred swings in a dangerous cross into the box towards Marcus Rashford who tries to bundle it in under the attention of Davinson Sanchez, but Hugo Lloris springs low to his right to claw the ball away.

That's all about the pace. Unbelievable pace. He just took on the defence and Harry Maguire did not know whether to come or go and he left him for dead. What a finish. Before David de Gea could react it was practically in the back of the net.

  9. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Man Utdpublished at 27 mins

    Steven Bergwijn

    Breakthrough!

It is a brilliant individual effort from Steven Bergwijn.

United fail to properly deal with Hugo Lloris's long punt upfield, Dutchman Bergwijn collects it a long way out and then it is all about his pace.

He leaves the lumbering Harry Maguire for dead, Fred cannot catch him and then from the edge of the area he blasts a shot which David de Gea gets a hand on but can only palm into the net.

Question marks on the goalkeeping there? The strike had a lot of power in it but it was straight at him...

    Tottenham 0-0 Man Utd

    Jonathan Greening
Former Manchester United midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Scott McTominay has started the game really well, he is dictating the play. Marcus Rashford looks really bright. He has pace to burn and that will be the main weapon against this Tottenham defence. I think the game will get better as it goes along.

  11. CLOSE!published at 25 mins

Nice from Bruno Fernandes, shifting the ball quickly from right to left but his drive from the angle is straight at Hugo Lloris.

I think it was a bit of a cagey start, both teams feeling their way into the game.

It is difficult when you have not got the atmosphere with people inside the stadium, it feels like a pre-season game and it took nearly 20 minutes for the first chance of the game.

First real chance of the game.

The man of the moment Marcus Rashford takes a first-time snap shot from eight yards out following Davinson Sanchez's poor header but Hugo Lloris gets across very well to push the ball to safety.

The Frenchman was diving the other way and managed to stick a boot out at it.

Spurs and Manchester United currently looking like two teams playing their first match in more than 100 days - all very subdued.

Lots of shouting when fouls are committed. And a fair few from Scott McTominay in these early stages.

Let's hope they are just blowing the cobwebs off.

Very late challenge from Erik Lamela on Scott McTominay, a right hack with the ball gone a long time ago but again Jon Moss keeps his cards in his pocket.
