Bristol City v Sheffield Wednesday (12:00 BST)

Bristol City will be looking to get back to winning ways and revive their play-off hopes following their defeat at Blackburn last weekend. Sheffield Wednesday have won just one of their past 11 league games and haven't kept an away clean sheet at Bristol City since 1921.

Nottingham Forest v Huddersfield Town (14:15 BST)

Forest will be looking to get back among the goals at the City Ground after failing to score in each of their of their past three home Championship games. Huddersfield are living dangerously sitting in the relegation zone losing 2-0 at home against Wigan last week so they will be desperate to get something out of this game.

Fulham boss Scott Parker has just done his press conference via an online meeting.

He said he hasn't seen the incident between his striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and Leeds defender Ben White so could not comment on it but felt his side should have made more of their first-half dominance.

The visitors enjoyed much of the play and chances during the opening period but could not make it count and are now seven points adrift of the top two.

"I think overall the performance in the first half was exceptional. We took the game to a very good side," Parker said.

"I thought we were superb then. Over the course of the game we needed to be more clinical. We should have put one away in the first half. They were more efficient in the final third that us."

He added: "I think it is going to be a big ask to go up automatically. I wouldn’t write it off because the unexpected could happen with the way the division is and games are."

Reading slumped to defeat against Derby but manager Mark Bowen says the result does not reflect his side's performance.

"We conceded too much space to them in the first half. We had three or four chances to score and then we gave ourselves a mountain to climb," he said.

"As a performance, I am not going to beat the team up as I thought we were the better team for large parts of the game.

"I’m frustrated as in my opinion we have been the best team in both games [since the restart] and have only come away with one point. It is fine details and we are getting punished harshly for it."

Derby kept up their momentum in the hunt for a Championship play-off place, beating Reading to register a fourth successive league win, with boss Phillip Cocu happy with his side's performance.

"It felt good to be back but the feeling without our fans is not the same. I am happy we could get a win and the home record has been excellent," he said.

"We have come a long way. We focus on one game at a time and focus on our football, and that has improved. Results will come your way if you show the right mentality as we did today.

"We are in a position to fight for a play-off spot and that is something we worked hard for together. It is something that has always been in the back of our minds but we didn’t want to talk too much about it.

"A big part of the season we were not good enough but we knew we would improve. Everything is tight in this league and it is still possible. You can only start taking about it when you are a few points off sixth place. Then you can really think about it with six games to go."

Neil Warnock has only had a few days to get his message across to the Middlesbrough players, following his midweek arrival as replacement for the departed Jonathan Woodgate.

But already it seems he has made an impact, after only their second win in 13 games - a 2-0 victory at Stoke City thanks to goals from Ashley Fletcher and Marcus Tavernier.

"I couldn't have asked any more," Warnock told BBC Radio Tees. "The lads have worked hard for three days and they've been long sessions so they've had to digest quite a lot of what I want them to do.

"I think you could see today they knew what they were doing and how I wanted them to go about it and they were super really - it's a tough place to come and they've got some good players and we nullified a lot of their strength, and used our strength.

"The two strikers were magnificent today, the amount of work Britt [Assombalonga] and [Ashley] Fletcher put in, [Patrick] Roberts back for an hour has given us a little lift, there were a lot of plusses. It's a happy drive home."

Swansea's play-off hopes suffered a blow after their defeat by struggling Luton and Swans boss Steve Cooper pulled no punches following their loss.

“It was a poor result and poor performance," Cooper said.

“We gave away a poor goal, giving away possession a few times and a free cross into the box and a free header. Really, really disappointing day.

“It’s a clear red. I've got no arguments. I thought the referee caused the melee, but I don't want my comment on the referee to hide the fact that Jordon has done something that is a clear red.

“But if he blows up on the first one, then it stops and it's a free-kick. He's a more experienced ref to see that.”

Preston manager Alex Neil felt his side were unlucky to finish on the wrong end of the scoreline against fellow play-off contenders Cardiff.

"I think our biggest frustration is we didn't make the best of our opportunities to hurt them," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"The manner of how we conceded the first goal was disappointing and the second was also really poor defending.

"We got some great chances though after conceding those two goals and our endeavour to get back into the game saw us make some fairly strange decisions at key stages."

Preston dropped out of the top six as a result of that loss with Cardiff leapfrogging them up to sixth.

Millwall manager Gary Rowett says his side have a 'big week' approaching as their play-off hopes stumbled in that goalless draw against Barnsley.

“We should have won the game but lacked a bit of quality in that final action, it doesn’t seem to be quite there at the moment," he said.

“We have started so well since we came in that we have given ourselves a platform to at least go and achieve something which maybe is a little bit ahead of schedule.

“We are at a point where we need to find momentum. We need a big week, we certainly need to go and win (against Swansea) on Tuesday.

“If we win on Tuesday we at least give ourselves an opportunity, if we don’t win on Tuesday I think it is going to be tough.

“My mindset is we wanted to give ourselves a chance, we were always going to be an outside bet.”

Barnsley head coach Gerhard Struber is hopeful his side can pick up enough points to seal their Championship status, despite moving bottom following their draw against Millwall.

“We have seven games for our chance, if we bring the same performance like today and a good style in transition then it will be difficult for the next opponent," he said.

“Seven games and we have to pick up points. There is no time to cry, we have created a good mood.

“I am happy with the performance, I am happy with the point. Hopefully the results from the other teams are kind for us.

“My boys did a very good job with a high focus but what we need is more control of the ball so we find more chances.

“Today was difficult, but we also had a big chance through Jacob Brown. It is 0-0, one point. I hope we can pick enough points in the future.”

Neil Warnock has done something that the previous nine full-time managers of Middlesbrough failed to do - win their first match in charge.

You have to go all the way back to 1994 and Bryan Robson's tenure for the most recent example.

Charlton's form since the restart of the Championship season has proved that talk of ending the campaign on a points-per-game basis was "ridiculous", boss Lee Bowyer said after beating QPR.

"I knew with nine games to go there is a lot of football left and even with seven to go, we are not out of it yet. We have to focus and keep fighting for every point because this league can hurt you," he said.

“We have had a good start and we are in a good position, but we have to keep fighting until the end because the most important thing for me is staying in the division.

“And what they were trying to do before with the points-per-game thing was ridiculous. I think we are proving that as it stands today, but still a long way to go.”

(On crowd noise over PA) “Our fans and the songs definitely get our players going at home.

“It helps so I wanted to have that, but I didn’t want the other bench hearing what instructions we are trying to put out as well so it was finding that balance.”

Luton's win against Swansea meant they climbed off the bottom of the Championship at the expense of Barnsley, but Hatters boss Nathan Jones did not count it as a lucky three points against a play-off chasing side.

“We thoroughly deserved it. To come here as the away side, with Swansea flying high, it’s a wonderful result," Jones said.

“We had belief we could stay up before we came into this game, but we have to instill it with results. Results rubber-stamp the belief and that’s what today will do.

“If we had no belief, why come here? I could have stayed in my garden and had a barbecue. We believed we have enough in this squad. Now, we have to pick up the points to prove that.

“We came here to win. As an away performance from a team at the bottom of the league, it was an outstanding display.

“Swansea have a front four as good as anything at this level, so we had to be tight and subdue them and we did that.”

Leeds moved three points clear at the top of the Championship with a 3-0 win over fourth-placed Fulham - but it was far from straightforward in the first half as the Cottagers created numerous chances.

"In the first half, it was difficult for us to recover the ball in the opponent's half and when we were close to our box we lost it again quickly," Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa told BBC Radio Leeds.

"That is why the first half was better for them than for us. In the second half it was better.

"The win was necessary for us and very important."

Just two points between four sides after this afternoon's results.

Big wins for Middlesbrough and Luton as well as Charlton earlier in the day, which lifted them above the bottom six and three points clear of the relegation zone.

Huddersfield slip into the bottom three, but have a chance to move back out again when they travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

How costly might that defeat for Stoke against Boro and Hull's failure to pick up all three points at Birmingham City prove come the end of the campaign?

Preston dropped out of the play-off places after going down 3-1 at home against Cardiff, who swapped places with the Lilywhites and are on 60 points.

Below them, Derby moved up to eighth, strengthening their play-off hopes, by beating Reading at Pride Park 2-1.

Swansea and Blackburn both dropped points in their race by losing to Luton and Wigan respectively, while Millwall gained a point after their stalemate against Barnsley.

Leeds top the Championship table courtesy of their thumping 3-0 win against 10-man Fulham, with West Brom dropping three points behind in second after that result and their defeat by Brentford on Friday.

Fulham's hopes of a top-two place now look slimmer than ever after their loss at Elland Road.

Meanwhile, Cardiff's win against play-off rivals Preston earlier on means they slot into sixth place.

Nottingham Forest are the only top six side not to feature today - they face Huddersfield tomorrow.
