Roger: Glenn not the only expat in USA taking this in. Watching on ESPN+. QPR ex-west Londoner, always a soft spot for Bees.

You're welcome too Roger! We'll have coverage of QPR's trip across the capital to Charlton tomorrow.

Matheus Pereira is hurtImage source, Rex Features

West Brom's Matheus Pereira is down, and stayed down while play seemed to go on around him.

In that time Grady Diangana romped forward for the Baggies but his pass to the supporting Hal Robson-Kanu was sloppy and Brentford were able to cover.

After treatment, Pereira is ok and Brentford get the ball back after putting it out.

    Brentford 1-0 West Brom

West Brom just cannot make the ball stick up top, Brentford always seeming to find the extra man.

Every broken down move clicks Brentford into life, Said Benrahma and Josh Dasilva in particular working together nicely.

Can't fault the application of Romaine Sawyers and Jake Livermore for the visitors, but they've had little chance to show their skills in attack.

What a ball in from Emiliano Marcondes... tried to pick out Ethan Pinnock at the back post but he was just beaten to it by a West Brom shirt.

    The resulting corner is cleared.

Marcondes scored from a similar position in the FA Cup versus Stoke, with that same vicious whip.

West Brom got down the right, a smart move, but the cross easily cleared by Ethan Pinnock.

The pace and tempo of this game has been pretty good but there are just occasional glimpses where play gets a bit scrappy and you sense there is a little lack of sharpness in both teams.

Brentford fashioning space, Said Benrahma ducking and jinking down the left and wins a dangerous free-kick.

Big threat here for West Brom...

    Brentford 1-0 West Brom

Grady Diangana goes for goal for West Brom but David Raya saved comfortably enough, albeit with a little juggle.

The attack on the back of it almost sees the Bees get in behind, as Christian Dalsgaard's diagonal ball looks for Ollie Watkins on the edge of the box, but Sam Johnstone races out to head it to safety.

    Brentford 1-0 West Brom

Brentford's goal has flooded them with confidence, and with such a fluid attack, in terms of movement, it's an ominous task for the visitors.

West Brom's Semi Ajayi has done well when the ball has come through the middle, but the flanks look a real threatening outlet for them with the threat of Fosu and Benrahma, and the attack-minded Rico Henry from full-back.

Meanwhile, Emiliano Marcondes gives away a free-kick 30 yards out... West Brom lining something up here.

West Brom boss Slaven Bilic looks remarkably calm for a man who as a player would have been eyes-bulgingly mad if his side had just conceded.

His side are trying to build from the back but some tireless pressing has them hemmed in somewhat.

Now it's time for a drinks break... maybe a good time for the Baggies to regroup.

You must be pretty happy at the moment then Glenn!

    Brentford 1-0 West Brom

Well, that puts a new slant on things at Griffin Park where the sun has come out for the hosts.

West Brom allow the Bees to attack with sharp, forceful runs, and a cool finish at the end.

They've been under the pump again, as neat interplay on the edge of the box sees Emiliano Marcondes curl a cross into the box.

Then Tariqe Fosu's low cross is just about cut out as the Bees bomb forward again... nervy moments for the visitors.

    Ollie Watkins

Brentford finally do find some space, some territory and execute brilliantly.

Tariqe Fosu started the move with a drive across field from right to left, and rolled a pass to Josh Dasilva, who in turn picked out Said Benahma on the left wing.

He picked out Dasilva in the box, and a cross shot was turned in by the lurking Ollie Watkins for goal 23 of the Championship season.

    Brentford 0-0 West Brom

Rico Henry scampered forward and lost it, leaving West Brom space to attack down the right but Ethan Pinnock found himself in the right place again to halt the Baggies attack.

Brentford broke on the back of the resulting throw, but Said Benrahma's clip into Ollie Watkins on the edge of the box found the striker swarmed upon, and West Brom cleared.

We're still in the 'staring out' period here, where neither side has truly made their move.

West Brom saw Matheus Pereira's through ball cut out by Ethan Pinnock, while attempts to get Ollie Watkins into the channels for Brentford have been marshalled well.

Nicely poised here. Pretty football but not a lot of penalty area action.

    Brentford 0-0 West Brom

Baggies keeper Sam Johnstone tries to hit a diagonal to the right but puts it straight out of play, but the visitors' tenacity in midfield wins the ball back.

Romaine Sawyers hit the deck after a tackle, and some 'comedy' boos on the television coverage greet his touch. Sawyers, of course, a former Bees player.

    Brentford 0-0 West Brom

Brentford won a free-kick right side of the box which posed plenty of questions for West Brom in theory, but the delivery was easily gathered by Sam Johnstone.

The home side finding their rhythm a little more now, sharp passing in midfield worked the ball left for Said Benrahma, but his ball in drifted just ahead of Ollie Watkins.

Still, two teams feeling each other out.

    Brentford 0-0 West Brom

Brentford happy to stroke the ball around at the back, David Raya has had as many touches as anyone as the Bees try to create some space and move forward.

It's a high press from West Brom in reply, who in their green and yellow shirts have a pleasing nod to the days of John Trewick and Tony Brown.

It's a funny atmosphere, the stadium announcer was giving it the full works a moment ago, perhaps for the benefit of the cardboard cut-outs which line the lower seating around Griffin Park.

Meanwhile, West Brom dictating play in the first couple of minutes, with Grady Diangana tricking his way into the box left side but lifting his cross onto the roof of the net.

    Brentford 0-0 West Brom

It should be rocking, it should be buzzing, it should be a throbbing, mass of humanity. But, tonight the famous, atmospheric old Griffin Park is quiet but for the shrill of Keith Stroud's whistle and the murmur on the pitch chat.

Both teams have just taken a knee for 'Black Lives Matter'. Strong message.

And now, we're under way, let's hope the players make some noise with the quality of their football. Here we go.

    A late change.

Brentford v West Brom (19:45 BST)

Another difference to the usual way of doing things is the rather understated way in which players emerge on to the pitch.

Brentford are amassing in the tunnel, and Emiliano Marcondes, who's a sub tonight, seems to be stripped to play.

Let's see how things look once we're underway.

West Brom troop out, followed by the Bees.
