    Portsmouth 1-1 Oxford United

Cameron McGeehan penalised for Portsmouth for a handball as Cameron Brannagan tried to get past.

Not the first time those two have crossed paths this half...

Oxford force another corner before the break from the following free-kick.

  2. INJURY TIMEpublished at 45 mins

    Portsmouth 1-1 Oxford United

Oxford finishing the stronger of the two sides as we move towards the break.

    Three minutes being added on...

    Marcus Browne

    Great leveller from Oxford!

A fantastic response from the U's since falling behind is rewarded with an equaliser from the right boot of Marcus Browne.

He runs to the edge of the Portsmouth area and then drills a right-foot shot low into the bottom left corner past Alex Bass' outstretched right arm.

    Portsmouth 1-0 Oxford United

Just had to politely remind my wife that standing in front of our television in the front room and asking me if I've got time to eat a spare chicken leg is not one of her greatest bits of timing.....

"Four minutes plus stoppages", was my belated reply as another Oxford United free-kick comes to nothing.

The perils of working from home eh?

  5. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Portsmouth 1-0 Oxford United

More decent pressure from Oxford as a cross flashed across goal by Marcus Browne goes inches away from finding the outstretched foot of Matty Taylor arriving in the middle.

  6. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Portsmouth 1-0 Oxford United

Oxford seem to have been sprung into life and a James Henry cross from the right asks questions of Portsmouth's defence.

Goes behind for a corner as Pompey scramble to clear it and then Alex Bass punches that clear with a bit more authority than he showed at the previous ball into the danger area.

  7. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Portsmouth 1-0 Oxford United

Oxford try and mount an immediate response and Marcus Browne has a go.

But his low right-foot shot goes well wide of Alex Bass' goal.

    Ronan Curtis

    Pompey take the lead!

Ronan Curtis afforded loads of room down the left and allowed the time to run into space in the box and pick his spot with a low drive that creeps into the net.

Oxford will be extremely disappointed with the manner in which they conceded that but Portsmouth arguably deserve the lead on the balance of play so far.

  9. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Big appeals for a penalty from Portsmouth's Christian Burgess as he goes to ground from a corner as he and Rob Dickie wrestle for room.

No interest from the referee in the protests and it goes behind for a goal kick.

Looked something of nothing to me.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 29 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Flashpoint here between the two sets of players as Cameron McGeehan and Cameron Brannagan tussle in midfield for the ball.

Neither was happy with that as Ellis Harrison was also tangled up in it and after a bit of pushing and shoving, Gavin Ward hands them both a yellow card for dissent.

  11. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

First Oxford corner of the game as James Henry finds some space out on their right.

Almost cleared off the Portsmouth line as Josh Ruffels was left unmarked with a header towards goal.

Pompey eventually hook a second one clear as Oxford fail to get it right.

  12. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Plenty of messages being put across by both Karl Robinson and Kenny Jackett to both sets of players in that drinks break.

U's boss Robinson probably the more animated of the two managers.

  13. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Oxford enjoy their first real extended spell of possession but no way through that Portsmouth defensive shape as Marcus Browne has an attempted through ball cut out on the edge of the area.

James Henry also runs out of options as his pass goes behind for a goal kick and we have our first drinks break of the game.

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Portsmouth with an impressive 72% possession so far in this game and Ronan Curtis the closest to making that count on the scoreline with the shot which struck the base of the post.

Oxford in need of some more time on the ball to grow into this first leg.

  15. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Oxford keep their shape well as first Ellis Harrison and then Marcus Harness find the door closed on them as they try and take a shot on the edge of the box.

Ball eventually heads behind for a goal kick from Ross McCrorie's miss-hit cross.

  16. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Portsmouth right-back Ross McCrorie goes in a little too eagerly on Oxford's Marcus Browne as he tries to track back from losing the ball on the edge of the Oxford area.

Needs to be careful there with Middlesbrough loanee Browne a threat on the counter.

  17. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Portsmouth definitely making the faster start and pressuring Oxford.

Marcus Harness whipped in a dangerous-looking free-kick from the left that couldn't quite find the head of either Christian Burgess or Sean Raggett.

Expect those two to be a regular feature in this tie at set pieces.

  18. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 7 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Early chance for Portsmouth as Ronan Curtis strikes the base of the post!

Brilliantly hit right-foot shot that looks to have beaten Simon Eastwood to his right, but it bounces clear to safety much to Oxford's relief.

  19. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

Oxford with their first real spell on the ball but Ben Woodburn's hopeful ball into the middle goes straight into the hands of Portsmouth keeper Alex Bass.

  20. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Portsmouth 0-0 Oxford United

The pitch looks absolutely immaculate and perfect for some free-flowing football.

Both teams have been preparing rigorously for this tie in the past few weeks.

Portsmouth force an early corner down the Oxford right but it doesn't find a blue head in the middle.
