And we're off at Fratton Park!

Referee Gavin Ward blew his whistle before the official start to begin a minute's applause in recognition of all key workers.

Both sides also took the knee to show their support for Black Lives Matter.

Now we're under way with Portsmouth in their usual blue home shirts and Oxford United in their away strip of white with a tidy dark blue and yellow sash.

  2. Here come the teams.... (from two different tunnels)published at 17:29 British Summer Time 3 July 2020

Portsmouth v Oxford United (17:30 BST)

Almost ready to get going down on the Solent where it looks pretty blustery this tea time...

Portsmouth make their way out of the usual players' tunnel while Oxford United emerge from behind one of the two goals.

    "New Normal" indeed...

  3. Pompey will have to make do without Fratton Park roarpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 3 July 2020

Portsmouth v Oxford United (17:30 BST)

They'll be no chants of "Play Up Pompey" inside the ground tonight, just lots of cardboard cut-outs of fans in the stands (including Mr Bean it seems!).

But Portsmouth skipper Lee Brown knows his side will have to find a way to adapt and maintain their unbeaten home form this evening...

On a normal matchday - that room would be full of home fans grabbing a last pre-match pint about now!

As well as our live text coverage of both League One play-off semi-finals and tonight's Championship fixture - there's also full mach commentary available on BBC local radio if you live in the transmission area of all of tonight's sides.

Rights restrictions prevent us from streaming those commentaries online sadly.

They may have to speak a bit louder though to hear each other in the usually "cosy" Fratton Park press box this evening as Portsmouth legend Guy Whittingham keeps his distance from BBC Radio Solent colleague Andrew Moon.

  6. And how did the final table look?published at 17:18 British Summer Time 3 July 2020

When the season was suspended back in March - Wycombe were eighth and Peterborough were sixth.

But Wycombe's game in hand on those above them saw them jump up to third under points-per-game while Peterborough dropped out of the play-off places.

And that's how we've ended up with Portsmouth facing Oxford and Fleetwood facing Wycombe starting from this evening....

  7. How did League One get here?published at 17:15 British Summer Time 3 July 2020

    Coventry CityImage source, Rex Features

After weeks and months of rumour and counter-rumour, talks of "a breakaway set of six clubs" - the League One season was officially brought to an early conclusion on 10 June.

An unweighted points-per-game formula was used to determine who went up, who went down and who got the chance to go for promotion in the play-offs.

    Here's how it ended up:

    • Promoted: Coventry City (champions), Rotherham United.
    • Play-offs: Wycombe Wanderers v Fleetwood Town, Portsmouth v Oxford United.
    • Relegated: Tranmere Rovers, Southend United, Bolton Wanderers.

League Two's shown us the way and now it's League One's turn.

A curtailed regular season saw the league table decided by an unweighted points-per-game basis and with League One having been a close-run thing at the top end for most of the season, there was a bit of a shake-up before determining which four clubs would get their shot at the play-offs.

Oxford United, Portsmouth, Wycombe Wanderers and Fleetwood are the chosen four.

How do they shape up and who fancies their chances of lifting some silverware at Wembley on Monday 13 July?

Jay Freeman has been assessing the runners and riders.
