These are the thumbs from 12:06 BST when I asked if you thought Daniel Farke had made the right call to bench his top scorers.

    Who'd be a manager, eh?

Almost time to find out who is correct with kick off a few minutes away.

Ian: Graham Potter looks like he 100% has an allotment.

Thinking the exact same thing the other day. Either that or a neighbour who is always gardening and pops his head over the fence to offer advice on how to plant your petunias.

  3. 'It is important to be fresh'published at 12:16 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

Norwich boss Daniel Farke, speaking to BT Sport about not starting Teemu Pukki: "We always have to rest a lot in the games. Lots of workload in the last days. It is a quick turnaround and especially in the offence when you want to be creative it important to be fresh. Hopefully it is the right choice.

"Today we have to play with less mistakes than at the Emirates and be at the top of our game.

"I am not willing to give any fighting message. We have to concentrate on the next game and we have to be back at our top level."

Ideozu-Frank Sampson: The fact that Norwich are benching their first and second top scorers, (on a day they needed them hugely) confirms they'll be playing their football in Champs next season! Teemu and Todd in bench when you need goals is asking for trouble.

Andy Bown: Brighton going all out for the win today..beat Norwich and pretty much survival assured..9 clear meaning Villa or Bournemouth would need at least 10 points from last 18!Surely Norwich's last throw of the dice today as well..could be a goal fest.

  5. 'Nothing straightforward in the Premier League'published at 12:08 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

Brighton boss Graham Potter, speaking to BT Sport: "We have done quite well. It is nice to bounce back from defeat. Nothing is straightforward in the Premier League, we have to give our best and see how we go.

"That was the XI we thought was right to play against Manchester United and this is the XI we think is right to play against Norwich. We need to play a full game and use everybody."

  6. Who will step up?published at 12:06 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

    .

If you don't score goals, you ain't gonna win games. Teemu Pukki and Todd Cantwell have scored 68% of Norwich's goals this season.

A bold move by Daniel Farke, but in the battle for survival big calls have to be made.

Right decision to bench them? Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.

Tough love from Norwich boss Daniel Farke before the game as he provides a start warning of the reality of the Canaries' situation.

The German accepts his side are running out of time in their battle, but while there is a chance, there is hope.

He said: “Even before the season started I would have said we had a five per cent chance to stay up, as long as we had all our key players available and a bit of luck along the way. But in reality I doubt any other club was hit by so many injuries to key players.

“So with those odds in 19 out of 20 cases you are probably relegated.

“There is still a chance but in this best of nine series we are down three so it tells you have unbelievably difficult it is."

Arrogant Desporado: Look at Norwich's goal difference. They've got to make up eight points in six games. No chance.

Swanny: It really says how poor the bottom four are that it likely won't matter if Brighton lose to Norwich.

  11. Four changes eachpublished at 11:43 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

The big news from the Norwich dressing room is Teemu Pukki - scorer of 11 of their 25 Premier League goals - is dropped to the bench.

Finland forward Pukki had started 30 of Norwich's previous 32 top-flight matches but has not scored since 22 January and was hauled off at half-time during Wednesday's 4-0 defeat at Arsenal.

It's one of four changes Daniel Farke makes to his starting line-up as Todd Cantwell, Lukas Rupp and Tom Trybull also drop out. Swiss forward Josip Drmic makes a rare Premier League start.

Norwich XI: Krul, Aarons, Godfrey, Klose, Lewis, Tettey, McLean, Emi, Duda, Hernandez, Drmic.

Substitutes: Rupp, Vrancic, Cantwell, Stiepermann, Trybull, Pukki, McGovern, Idah, Martin.

Brighton boss Graham Potter also makes four changes from the side that started the 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United on Tuesday.

Top scorer Neal Maupay is one of those returning to the team. Martin Montoya and Dale Stephens are among those dropping out.

Brighton XI: Ryan, Lamptey, Webster, Dunk, Burn, Propper, Bissouma, Mooy, Trossard, Maupay, Connolly.

Substitutes: Duffy, Stephens, Mac Allister, Gross, Murray, March, Montoya, Button, Bernardo.

  12. Brighton to take a big step towards survival?published at 11:39 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Norwich might see this game as the start of a run of winnable fixtures, but there is a reason they are in the mess they are in. They don't create enough chances and they are too easy to play through.

Brighton were turned over by Manchester United on Tuesday, but this is an opportunity for them to take another big step towards survival and take a lot of pressure off their run-in.

They will know all of that, which is why I think they will go to Carrow Road for a win.

    Prediction: 1-2

    Which tactic will pay dividends?

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

Norwich need to score goals but that responsibility, at least initially, will not fall on their top scorer's shoulders. Teemu Pukki is on the bench for the Canaries. Todd Cantwell, Norwich's second highest scorer this season, joins him among the substitutes.

Meanwhile, Brighton make four changes as striker Neal Maupay returns to the starting line up.

Leandro Trossard, Adam Webster and Aaron Mooy also return to the first XI.

    Full team news to follow.

    Norwich v Brighton (12:30 BST)

    Teemu PukkiImage source, Getty Images

Top scorer Teemu Pukki could do with a goal today. The striker made a flying start to life in the Premier League with six goals in Norwich's first five games but he is currently on a 10-match goalless run.

But scoring goals is not a problem exclusive to Pukki. Norwich have managed just 16 goals in their last 27 matches.

This is the state of play at the bottom of the table.

Brighton are nearly there on 33 points and a win today will surely all but secure top-flight football for another season.

For Norwich, nothing but three points will do, especially with games against Chelsea and Manchester City on the horizon.
