    Chelsea 0-0 Watford

Willian moves it on to Christian Pulisic on the edge of the box and he slips in Olivier Giroud.

He hits it first time but it's too close to Ben Foster, who gets a good hand on it. Chelsea retain possession but the cross from Willian on the right won't reach Pulisic and Giroud is penalised for a shirt tug.

This stat has just come through.

Chelsea are on a club Premier League record run of 82 consecutive matches without a red card, since Tiemoue Bakayoko was sent off in a 4-1 defeat at Watford on 5 February 2018.

So which Chelsea player is getting sent off today?

Troy Deeney, to Kiko Femenia... straight into the hands of Kepa.

Reece James' cross is then also straight at the keeper.

It's gone a bit stale in the last few minutes.

Will Hughes gets a little tug from Reece James and goes to ground. Free-kick given, though it's a soft one!

Decent position for Hughes but Craig Dawson slips as the ball comes in.

Christian Pulisic lifts it into the box for Olivier Giroud, who has stayed onside but his touch takes him wide.

He hooks it back into the middle, looking for Pulisic, but it's headed away.

    This is good from Chelsea.

Willian's cross from the right is headed away by Craig Dawson but when Watford do eventually win it back, Will Hughes' pass it cut-out.

Ross Barkley plays a nice first-touch flick to Olivier Giroud but he won't reach the return ball.

    Chelsea look energetic early on.

Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma at the back for Chelsea today. Straight away, it's clear they don't want any nonsense as Christensen hoofs it out for a throw-in to get rid of it in the box.

  14. 'We have to show fight in us'published at 19:56 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Chelsea v Watford (20:00 BST)

    Watford

Watford boss Nigel Pearson speaking to Sky Sports: "For me this is trying to select a team that gives us a good chance of winning.

"We need a disciplined performance and one that represents us fighting for our Premier League survival, so when it doesn't happen it is particularly disappointing. We have to go out and show we have fight in us and we will do whatever we can to stay up.

"I don't think anybody was happy with the performance (against Southampton).

"But you have to move on pretty quick. Hopefully tonight we will see a performance that represents us a lot more accurately. If we get that we always have a chance because we have good players."

  16. 'We want to finish the job'published at 19:52 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Chelsea v Watford (20:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to Sky Sports: "I'm pretty happy, there were a lot of unknowns at the start of the season about where we were at and we have worked very hard. Of course we want to finish the job.

"It's been tight for a while, you can always feel the pressure of a Wolves, Sheffield United or a Manchester United. I never felt there was real daylight. The nature of the league, it can change really quickly."

On team changes being a reaction to West Ham defeat?

"It was a mixture. A lot of teams are making changes for fitness but we made some clear mistakes on the day. I'm not one for picking out individuals, we have to take collective responsibility. I always expect a reaction because every new game is a challenge."

But what a job Frank Lampard has done this season though. If they can patch things up a little and get some consistency, they will be dangerous.

  19. 'Work needed at the back'published at 19:46 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    Chelsea v Watford (20:00 BST)

I've heard some people lining Chelsea up for a go at the title next season but, defensively, I think they are well short of what is required to be contenders.

They have got some excellent midfielders and forwards, but I am not sure that is going to be enough to get them a top-four finish this time either. There is a lot of work to be done at the back and they are going to have more hiccups like the one they had when they lost to West Ham in midweek.

I would still back them to beat Watford though, because the Hornets have lost all of their momentum.

    Prediction: 2-0

I get the sentiment Nuno. 'We only focus on ourselves' and all that. But the table is a pretty decent guide on how the season ends...

    A classic.
