  1. 'Other results and the table do not guide us'published at 19:43 British Summer Time 4 July 2020

    FT: Wolves 0-2 Arsenal

    Wolves

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santos, speaking to Sky Sports: "First half was balanced. Both teams were organised with not many chances. One moment we lost our shape and Arsenal scored. We started the second half better and were pressing and creating chances. But we knew as the game goes by Arsenal have good players on the counter-attack.The work was there. We go for the next one.

"Mistakes happen. What we have to look at and solve. It was a moment of concentration and we allowed ourselves to concede. We have to bounce back and reinvent ourselves.

"I think we had spells where we had options to score. The goal was there and we were looking for it. After the second goal it became much harder.

"It doesn't change the way we see things. Other results and the table do not guide us. We were not able to do things we wanted to do. We only focus on the way and how we want to do things and focus on the next challenge. We must stay in the game. Arsenal did not have many chances and we allowed them to have these moments."

    Arsenal

Arsenal goalscorer Bukayo Saka, speaking to Sky Sports: "It is very big. We know how good Wolves are and how tough it wad going to be. We fought for every ball and it is good to build some momentum.

"It has been a week I will remember for my whole life. You can see the manager is building and that I can tie down my future here.

On his goal: "I anticipated the ball was going to come so I got there. I knew it was the far post where the gap was going to be so I tried to guide it there."

On the second-half: "It was a shift. Everyone fought for each other, together and that is why we got it over the line. The subs helped us out so much and gave us a boost. It feels like we are more together.

"I am 18 and it has been a dream to play for this club. I have to take each game by game. Wherever the boss wants to put me, I want to play. It is a dream to be here."

James: Abraham, Rudiger to an extent, and especially Alonso, look like they're paying for their horrendous performances on Wednesday. Frank is showing no player is too good for the bench and I like that.

    FT: Wolves 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal have won three consecutive league games without conceding for the first time since November 2017, while this is the first time they’ve won back-to-back away league games without reply since October 2015.

Wolves suffered their first Premier League defeat in nine games, while this was their first league defeat by more than a 1-goal margin since September (2-5 vs Chelsea).

This was Arsenal’s first away league victory against a side starting above them in the league table since September 2015, when they won 5-2 at Leicester.

Wolves managed just one shot on target in this match, with that coming after just 17 seconds courtesy of Adama Traore.

Chelsea are up next and they will be looking over their shoulders a little, thankful that Wolves haven't picked up any points.

Can they get a win and move up to fourth, overtaking Manchester United?

Naim: We actually won. An away game. Keeping a clean sheet. Deservedly. Genuinely impressed.

Jon: A great win for Arsenal. Can’t understand some fans suggesting we’d be better without Europa League next season. Could be worth more than £20 million, plus extra income from merit payments in the League. That’s the price of another player...

Daniel: Why oh why did we leave it so long to get rid of Emery? Would have loved to have seen Arteta take charge at the start of the season. We only have five games left and it looks like we're starting to get up and running.

This is a terrific win for Arsenal. Big three points. No mistakes at the back, a clean sheet and an honest performance.

Good work from Mikel Arteta. Wolves just not at their best and haven't created anywhere near enough.

Eamonn: That was class from Lacazette! Just needs to deliver more often (especially away from home!)

Marlo: New formation. Another clean sheet and only one chance conceded in 90 mins. Subs combine to score. Its almost as if Arteta knows what he's doing.
