  2. 'The Norwich fans will stand by the team'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    FT: Norwich 0-4 West Ham

    Dion Dublin
Former Norwich striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

I have a soft spot for Norwich. I started and ended my career there. Their fans will keep going as they are very loyal. They love their team dearly. They will be very disappointed but they will stand by them. It is now up to the club to put out a team that will not embarrass them.

  3. 'It's been a tough journey'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    FT: Norwich 0-4 West Ham

    Norwich City

Norwich midfielder Alex Tettey speaking to BT Sport: "It’s very hard for me to talk, that was a tough game for us. We came out trying to be positive but when we don’t do what we have to do on the pitch we are punished.

"For all those four goals we can’t defend like that, it’s very very tough. I’ve been saying this the whole season – at the end it doesn’t end up being a positive game and it’s tough to get yourselves going mentally.

"This club has not been a club that buys well established players, if you have a group and a collective that you’re trying to create you need to be consistent.

"We’ve been in games sometimes but we don’t have the mentality or character to get those wins. It’s been a tough journey, it’s a young group but they will now have that experience."

  4. 'Burnley doing brilliantly'published at 14:36 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    Liverpool v Burnley (15:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

With three wins and a draw from their past four games, Burnley are doing brilliantly, especially when you consider how depleted Sean Dyche's squad is.

But I see their good run ending when they go to Anfield. Liverpool will find it far harder to break Burnley down than it was against Brighton in midweek, but I think the end result will be the same - a Reds win.

    Prediction: 2-0

He (Teemu Pukki) is a player who will score goals if he is managed in a way we haven't seen in the last few games. He has been on the bench - what has happened there I don't know.

I haven't seen grit and determination from Norwich in a long time. Eight defeats in eight games, and this when they have been fighting for their life.

They beat City because they worked extremely hard. Winning and playing well and being proud of your performance is incredibly hard work. I didn't see enough of that from Norwich players.

Despite Michail Antonio's best efforts to win the Golden Boot in a single game. His eight Premier League goals is still a fair way off Jamie Vardy's lead of 22.

Mohamed Salah wouldn't mind four today though. He's up next with Liverpool, as they host Burnley.

I'll start building up to that game but stick around for reaction to the West Ham and Watford victories.

  7. 'They haven't found ways to win'published at 14:31 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    Norwich 0-4 West Ham

    Rob Green
Former Norwich and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

You look at sticking to your principles, but the lack of being able to adapt over the course of the season. They have lost every game they have gone behind in this season. They haven't found ways to win games. They play nice football. Everyone remembers them playing through the press so well against Manchester City. They tried to do the same the next week against Burnley and were 2-0 down inside 15 minutes.

You do wonder about the future of some of the players there.

Sad scenes at Carrow Road as the Norwich players react to relegation. Daniel Farke does his best to console them as he wanders lifelessly around the pitch.

Over at Vicarage Road, Troy Deeney is off the bench to greet every single one of his teammates before they head down the tunnel.

He's limping a little but still manages to give Will Hughes a big squeeze. Nigel Pearson clasps all of his staff on the back.

A double from Troy Deeney does the job for Watford. Another big win for them. They are surely safe now too?

    Big day for the skipper.

Mo Mo Chugsy: That moment you realise you failing to follow up on your sixth sense last week to add to your fantasy team has seriously backfired.

David Howell: So that's the end of the relegation battle then. Good job we have a gloriously chaotic battle for European spots still to play out!

Michael Smith: Newcastle are on holiday now, not enough commitment and drive to get the goals we needed here. Just not good enough.

Andre Gray, who has just replaced Danny Welbeck, does well to keep the ball for Watford as he brings it out on the left.

Newcastle are doing everything they can to get it up the other end. Martin Dubravka takes another free-kick and waves everyone up.

  14. INJURY TIMEpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

Three minutes of this painful performance to go for Norwich. Just blew the whistle ref. Michail Antonio needs to get to the pub (social-distanced of course).

  15. 'It is embarrassing'published at 14:19 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    Norwich 0-4 West Ham

    Dion Dublin
Former Norwich striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You expect at least one, maybe two or three decent performances when you are fighting for your life to stop going down to whatever division it may be. There is something in you that says 'let's not embarrass ourselves'. But 4-0 at home. And yes, West Ham may be the better side and Michail Antonio may be on fire but come on, it is embarrassing.

They will be embarrassed, their fans will be embarrassed. You at least want a bit of blood, sweat and tears before you go down. When you are down there you need players who hold each other to account. But goals are going in and nobody is angry and pointing. It is just accepted.

  16. Postpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    Watford 2-1 Newcastle

Abdoulaye Doucoure comes flying over the top of Joelinton to try and win the header. He's appealing for the foul himself but there's no chance Craig Pawson is giving that!

Martin Dubravka sends it long instead. The cards are starting to come out now too. Will Hughes brings down Joelinton a few minutes later and is in the book.

  17. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

Todd Cantwell wins a free-kick on the right and takes it himself but it flies straight out for a goalkick. Timm Klose isn't able to keep it in.

    Sums it up.

  18. As it stands...published at 14:17 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

    Watford 2-1 Newcastle

A big three points for Watford if they can hold on in these last few minutes. They could be six points above the relegation zone, joining West Ham on 34 points.

Very bad day for the bottom three.
