Wolves are searching for another. Ruben Neves links up with Daniel Podence on the edge of the box.

Neves has space to shoot from 25 yards out but he gets too much on it and it flies way over.

Everton are better with four at the back. But after you make a change, to concede straight after half-time is devastating.

    Leander Dendoncker

Uh-oh. This is an awful start for Everton!

Pedro Neto swings a low free-kick in from the right and Leander Dendoncker gets a touch on it.

His header bounces agonisingly out of reach of Jordan Pickford's outstretched arm.

It was young Jarrad Branthwaite who got caught out with Dendoncker getting goal side.

Only champions Liverpool (2) have dropped as few PL points from a winning position than Wolves themselves (2) this season.

This season, Wolves (W13-D1-L0) only failed to beat Brighton after having taken the lead (2-2 away on 8 December 2019).

Penalty, or no penalty, Wolves have been the better team. Everton aren't doing anything with the ball and Daniel Podence has had a decent game on his first Premier League start. They're back up to sixth as it stands, overtaking Sheffield United.

Jordan's got a point. Definitely contact but if I went down under that challenge in 5-aside, I'd get put in goal for the next hour.

Allan: It is not a classic. Everton set up not to concede. Technically impressive, but boring for fans. Without the penalty there would have been no breakthrough.

Jordan: I can't watch football anymore if these incidents are going to keep getting given as penalties. Yeh I know there is some contact but he could have just stayed on his feet and carried on.

I like Lucas Digne as a defender but in the last few games it's like he has been losing his head. It was a rash tackle and he just kicked out at Daniel Podence.

Podence was going nowhere he just had to stand up.

That goal probably changes Nuno Espirito Santo's team talk because he would have been frustrated up until then. Carlo Ancelotti's will too. He will be fuming.

It's a confident penalty from a confident player who has had an outstanding season.

It's a deserved lead for Wolves but it was stupid defending from Lucas Digne on the stroke of half time.

Unreal from Daniel Podence there. He's been excellent for Wolves, creating chances, making runs in behind and teasing the defenders.

Wolves needed that because they have had lots of the ball and not done too much with it. They needed something special.

Daniel Podence is a bag of tricks. He beats two players with some outrageous skill and then does a Maradona turn on Lucas Digne, just inside the box.
