Brentford had the better of that first half, but this double-chance for Swansea's Andre Ayew and Rhian Brewster was the closest either team came to scoring.

How costly could that miss prove?

  3. Barnsley defeat not affecting Brentfordpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    HT: Swansea 0-0 Brentford

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

We've seen character from Swansea City teams for years, when they have the bit between their teeth they are very difficult to break down.

But this is a very good Brentford side, they didn't get to the Premier League by the thinnest of margins but that doesn't seem to be affecting them at the moment.

He [Benrahma] is some player. Fantastic balance and skill, he can't believe he hasn't hit the target with his effort.

  5. HALF-TIME - Swansea 0-0 Brentfordpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    There's the half-time whistle.

Brentford have had most of the play but both sides have missed good opportunities to score.

This first leg is nicely poised.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 45 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

A second yellow card of the match and a first for Brentford.

Rhian Brewster breaks forward down the right for Swansea but is cynically bodychecked by Mathias Jensen.

  7. Chance!published at 45 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

Brentford work their way towards Swansea's penalty area and don't seem to be threatening... until Said Benrahma gets on the ball.

He slaloms past a couple of Swansea defenders and gets into the box but he's slightly off balance as he shoots over.

A decent opening for one of Brentford's players of the season.

Rhian Brewster has scored 10 goals for Swansea since joining on loan from Liverpool.

Will he come to rue missing that first-half chance to take his tally to 11?

  9. 'He's a yard out!'published at 40 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

He [Brewster] is a yard out, he only has to touch it away from the goalkeeper and it is in the back of the net.

He's headed it straight at the goalkeeper, what a chance that was.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 39 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

Two chances in quick succession for Swansea!

It all starts with a good cross from the left by Jake Bidwell and Rhian Brewster is the first there, but the Liverpool loanee's header is deflected over for a corner.

From that set-piece, Andre Ayew heads at goal but hits the post, before David Raya smothers the rebound from Brewster.

Raya then gets some treatment for a head knock, but he seems fine.

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

Corner for Brentford on the right-hand side and it's a floated cross towards the back post from Mathias Jensen.

Ethan Pinnock get his head on the ball but it bounces harmlessly into the hands of Erwin Mulder in the Swansea goal.

  12. Thomas Frank's tactics boardpublished at 35 mins

I wonder what Brentford head coach Thomas Frank is showing his players here?

Thomas Frank's tactics board has a decent ring to it.

Almost as good as Andy Townsend's tactics truck.

  13. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

A sight on goal for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard, but his low, first-time effort is comfortably held by Swansea keeper Erwin Mulder.

  14. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

Another chance for Swansea from the left-hand side, as Conor Gallagher stands over a free-kick.

His delivery is overhit and Brentford keeper David Raya catches the ball with a loud cry of "keepers".

  15. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

When Brentford play like this, you do wonder how they managed to lose their final two games of the regular season to Stoke and Barnsley.

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

There's a good tempo to this game, thanks largely to the pace and crispness of Brentford's passing - as well as their pressing without the ball.

Swansea are trying to do their bit for the game as a spectacle too, but it's the visitors who've started brightest so far.

  18. Close!published at 25 mins

    Swansea 0-0 Brentford

Drinks are done and we're back under way, with Brentford on the attack again.

It's a great run down the left wing from Rico Henry, who crosses perfectly for an unmarked Ollie Watkins, but he heads over and wide.

  19. 'Swansea's best move'published at 18:55 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Ian Walsh
Former Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

It's fantastic from Gallagher to back heel it to Brewster, it sits beautifully for him but unfortunately it was straight at the goalkeeper.

    Swansea's best move.

  20. Postpublished at 23 mins

    Time for drinks.

It still feels like a cricket match anytime anyone says that.
