Republic of Ireland v Wales (14:00 BST)

Wales' loss on Thursday was less high stakes, but no more fun for fans as a side missing plenty of big-hitters lost 3-0 to an England side also missing plenty of big-hitters.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin marked his England debut with a goal as Gareth Southgate's side eased to victory in the friendly against Wales at Wembley.

  3. "A massive boost"published at 13:16 British Summer Time 11 October 2020

Republic of Ireland v Wales (14:00 BST)

The return of midfielder Aaron Ramsey will give Wales "a massive boost" for Sunday's Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland, says defender Ben Davies.

Juventus' Ramsey, 29, missed Thursday's 3-0 friendly loss to England having been part of the Italian club's Covid-19 bubble following an outbreak.

He was also absent for last month's Nations League games because of injury.

"Aaron is a world-class player," said Tottenham left-back Davies.

Republic of Ireland v Wales (14:00 BST)

Five further players have been ruled out for Ireland today due to Covid-19 protocol.

One Irish player has tested positive and four others are deemed to have been in close contact with him.

The news broke just a couple of hours before kick-off today.

    Here is the latest.

  5. Wales team news - Moore startspublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 11 October 2020

Republic of Ireland v Wales (14:00 BST)

Wales have named their team and the big news is that striker Kieffer Moore starts.

The Cardiff City target man was forced off during the first half of Thursday's friendly loss to England with a bruised toe but gets the go-ahead to start.

Bournemouth centre-back Chris Mepham is not so fortunate, ruled out after injuring his knee at Wembley.

Ethan Ampadu moves back into defence to fill the hole left by Mepham, while Matt Smith returns to partner Joe Morrell in midfield.

As expected, Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey starts after missing the England friendly - and he is made captain on his return.

Harry Wilson and Daniel James are also restored in the wide attacking positions, replacing Tyler Roberts and Rabbi Matondo.

Manager Ryan Giggs makes four changes in total from Thursday's friendly against England.

The Republic of Ireland also make four changes, from Thursday’s Euro 2020 play-off semi-final defeat in Slovakia.

Some are due to injury and some are because of this morning’s revelation about further Covid-19 withdrawals.

Centre-back Kevin Long replaces John Egan, midfielders Jayson Molumby and Robbie Brady come in for James McCarthy and Callum Robinson, while striker Shane Long replaces the injured David McGoldrick.

  7. Good afternoonpublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 11 October 2020

Republic of Ireland v Wales (14:00 BST)

    Good afternoon and welcome.

Let's be honest, it's been a rubbish few days to be a supporter of both these nations.

On Thursday, Wales were soundly beaten by England and suffered a couple of injuries in a friendly. However, on the misery stakes, that was nothing... "Hold my beer," Republic of Ireland fans will say.

They had an even worse Thursday, with Stephen Kenny's side beaten on penalties in Slovakia in a Euro 2020 play-off.

So if nothing else, today is going to be better than Thursday, for at least one of these nations.

Let's have a look at the team news, shall we?
