Wasn't Varane the best central defender in the world at one point? He's gifted City this tie.

who says Gabriel Jesus isn't good enough?!

This is one of the worst performances from any side I've ever seen in this competition. On holidays after winning La Liga?

Man City 2-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 4-2)
Raheem Sterling goes down inside the box after a nudge by Dani Carvajal. Referee Felix Brych isn't interested and VAR stands by the original decision.
Manchester City are almost in again soon after though after ANOTHER mistake at the back as Carvajal loses the ball inside his own box but Thibaut Courtois is quick to spare his team-mate's blushes.
What has happened to this Real Madrid defence tonight? All over the place.
Juventus 2-1 Lyon (Agg: 2-2)
The drinks break brings a flurry of subs - Aaron Ramsey is on by the way - but perhaps Paulo Dybala's introduction could be the key one. He's on up front.

That's a mistake you cannot make. You cannot be sloppy in games like this.
But that's the reward you get when you work hard.
Real Madrid came out flying, but then they went back to playing slow and they've been caught out.
Juventus 2-1 Lyon (Agg: 2-2)
Lyon through on away goals as it stands but this will be a horrible last 22 minutes for their followers. Cristiano Ronaldo does good work on the left wing this time to stand up a cross that is headed over by Gonzalo Higuain.
Gabriel Jesus (68 mins)
Yep, there's the defensive mistake, but what a finish!
Raphael Varane has a shocker, missing his first clearing header from a Rodri thump upfield before he sells Thibaut Courtois short when he heads back to his keeper and Gabriel Jesus nips in to tuck a smart finish past Courtois.
Big goal.

Josh Earl: you've always got a chance with Ronaldo in your team
Man City 1-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 3-2)
Pep Guardiola freshens things up in attack as he sends on Bernardo Silva for Phil Foden.
Just over 20 minutes remaining.
Man City 1-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 3-2)
Lovely football from Manchester City as they slice through the Real Madrid defence - Kevin de Bruyne to Ilkay Gundogan to Gabriel Jesus, whose shot is pushed over by Thibaut Courtois.
Feels like there is one more defensive mistake to play a part in this game...

I really feel City have to score another goal.
Given enough chances, Real will score here.
Man City 1-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 3-2)
A chance from nothing for Real Madrid as Toni Kroos' long ball finds Marco Asensio. The bounce is awkward so the substitute has to knock it back slightly to Karim Benzema, who cuts onto his right before driving a low shot at Ederson.
Warning shot for Manchester City, who could do with another to feel comfortable.
Juventus 2-1 Lyon (Agg: 2-2)
Cristiano Ronaldo is the first man to reach 130 goals in the Champions League. And that's 67 goals in 81 games in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Man City 1-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 3-2)

Manchester City are creating the better openings but the quality that Real Madrid possess up front means this is still very tense.
And still the noisy backing comes from City's squad and support staff. This is the loudest behind closed doors gave I've attended since "Project Restart".

Aleks Yakubssohn: Sterling, Silva, DeBruyne are all fantsastic players but they're being wastefully fancy overholding the ball in front of goal. this might come back to bite City
Wayne Ellis: If City don’t go through, they only have themselves to blame. Wasted so many opportunities after being gifted possession in the Real half
Man City 1-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 3-2)
Marco Asensio is on now for Rodrygo for Real Madrid.
The visitors certainly needed to mix things up in attack. They've offered nothing in this half.
Cristiano Ronaldo (60 mins)
Woooosh!
Juventus have been dreadful since, well, all game to be honest but just when they started to look like losing faith you know who is at it again!
Cristiano Ronaldo does it all himself. He picks it up on the right wing, has masses of bodies between him and the goal so just shifts it on to his left foot and fires in a banging, swerving shot from 25-ish yards.
Anthony Lopes gets a big hand on it but can only push it in off the post.
Juve need one more...

Gar Wolinski: Better to have just one leg played at this stage of the competition(this includes the EL).Great opportunity for other than the "regular" nations to host these games, generating revenue, investing in their academies so perhaps one day they may compete with the best
Mickey Bricks: Kinda tells you how overrated City are! Much has been said this season about this Real Madrid team being average compared to previous years but City still can't manage to put them away
Juventus 1-1 Lyon (Agg: 1-2)
Lyon keep the ball for an age, Memphis almost dribbles into the area and it runs free for Bruno Guimaraes who hits a piledriver over the top. Close, as Juve send Aaron Ramsey out to warm up.
Man City 1-1 Real Madrid (Agg: 3-2)
Vital, vital challenge by Dani Carvajal as he comes across to show Eder Militao how to do it with a big stretch to block Kevin de Bruyne's shot after the midfielder had twisted and turned Militao out of shape.
