Now some will say Bayern are now looking like overwhelming favourites for the title, but frankly Atletico probably would have beaten this Barca side.

They continue to play out from the back despite Bayern's high pressing. Astonishing to witness.

  3. Suarez 'not the player he once was'published at 20:47 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Luis Suarez just doesn't have the legs anymore, he doesn't have that extra yard as a central striker. His brain still works exceptionally well but he is not the player he once was.

The ball bobbles up for Luis Suarez on the edge of the area but his low driven shot flies straight into the gloves of Manuel Neuer.

Tom West: This should be a wake up call for Barca. Structurally, as a club they are a mess. From boardroom to the pitch they've not been on it for a while now. Poor recruitment since the Neymar sale. Big danger of squandering the final years of Messi without radical changes

  8. Busquets doesn't have the legs anymorepublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's one team that looks confident, slick, strong, powerful and energetic. They are from Germany.

Barcelona have been woeful. They have no real plan, no strategy.

They have got a lot of ageing players - Sergio Busquets has been a great player in the middle of the park for Barcelona. He doesn't have the legs anymore. That's the truth of it.

Just checking to see if Quique Setien has received a letter yet?

Nope, and he's still on the bench.

Obviously we don't like to see any manager lose their job, but the coach must be walking on a tightrope made of sewing thread.

Robert Lewandowski hasn't actually scored yet!!

However, the Polish striker - looking for his 14th in the competition this season - goes close again with a header straight at the Barca keeper.

Aleksandar Todorov: What we are witnessing is an absolute ruthless assassination from Bayern Munich! Barcelona are in total shambles.

Colin Bundred: Vidal may have to re consider his choice of the “worlds greatest team.

Damien Wood: I'm having Brazil Vs Germany flashbacks. This is when the bloodthirst of football fans comes out. Moooooooore!

    Barcelona 1-4 Bayern Munich

So just before the goal Robert Lewandowski had almost made it four after Barcelona - again inexplicably tried to patiently play the ball out from the back. The Polish striker's effort was saved by Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

What speed setting are Barcelona on? What exactly is going though the mind of Quique Setien? Why is his team so ponderous?

  14. 'Pathetic and embarrassing'published at 20:34 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

Barcelona have been pathetic at the back and in the middle of the park.

This is embarrassing. We could end up with a cricket score.

Michael Reid: What are we watching here? Are Bayern just that good, or are Barca just awful?

Henry Ashman: What is it with the top teams in the world being woeful at defending? Are they so dominant domestically that they pick attackers/playmakers instead of the "boot man & ball into row Z" sort of defenders?

  16. 'Barca are being pummelled'published at 20:31 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Chris Sutton
Premier League winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

Bayern Munich are too slick, too powerful, too clever, too efficient.

Barcelona should think about raising the white flag up because they are being pummelled.

Barca's backline and midfield just cannot live with Bayern.

    Thomas Muller

What a bit of poaching from Thomas Muller.

Joshua Kimmich does what he does best and delivers a peach of a low ball from the right to the near post which the German midfielder toes in.

    Run out of adjectives.

Wayne Ellis: Not sure whether this is great attacking play or two terrible defences, but it’s a cracking watch

Francesca Gunn: Finally a proper champions league game! Finally some excitement

  20. goal

GOAL - Barcelona 1-3 Bayern Munichpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 14 August 2020

    Serge Gnabry

We're not allowed to swear here are we?

Barcelona's defence is shambolic - really, really incredibly woeful.

Bayern snatch possession again; a great ball over the top from Leon Goretzka finds the brilliant Serge Gnabry who eases past Clement Lenglet and fires low past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

What we are witnessing is truly incredible.
