Jack Jenkins: Whatever the outcome, Ole has done enough to earn another season. People like to forget about the injuries he has had to struggle through, we need squad depth but Ole has got us going the right way. Back the manager whatever today.

This is the worst day. I feel sick, I feel nervous, this has to be the worse day to feel like this, I wasn't this nervous when we played Derby in the play-offs, but please come on you Villa boys, Grealish please score I know this is your last game with us COYL and please start Keinan Davis.

"You've seen how I react to people, make them feel good, make them think that anything's possible. If I make them laugh along the way, sue me.

"And I don't do it so they turn round and go 'Thank you David for the opportunity, thank you for the wisdom, thank you for the laughs.' I do it so, one day, someone will go 'There goes David Silva. I must remember to thank him.'

    Goodbye to a legend.

  5. But it could just be the top three...published at 14:30 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

There is a possibility only the top three would qualify for the Champions League - if the two major European club trophies are both won by English teams who finish outside this season's top four.

Why? Because there can be a maximum of five English teams in the Champions League.

So if Chelsea win the Champions League and Wolves win the Europa League - and neither finish in the top four - then both sides would qualify for next season's Champions League and fourth place in the Premier League would only earn a Europa League spot.

Big day for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United. You wonder what the club will do if they miss out on the Champions League for another season, and whether the fans can be patient to wait another year with the same manager.

Love it when CL and relegation battles go to the final day. Got my TV, laptop, tablet and phone prepped so I can watch 4 games simultaneously...

  7. What do Tottenham need?published at 14:29 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

Crystal Palace v Tottenham (16:00 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are guaranteed at least seventh but need Wolves to drop points if they do not want to worry about who wins the FA Cup.

If Wolves lose at Chelsea, a point for Spurs at Crystal Palace would be enough. If they do finish seventh, they will need Chelsea to win the cup.

  8. What do Wolves need?published at 14:28 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Chelsea v Wolves (16:00 BST)

    Wolves

Wolves will qualify for the Europa League if they beat Chelsea. But if they draw or lose, they could still finish seventh.

  9. What do Leicester need?published at 14:28 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

Leicester v Man Utd (16:00 BST)

    Leicester City

Leicester will qualify for the Champions League if they beat Man Utd. A draw is only good enough if Chelsea lose.

  10. What do Man Utd need?published at 14:27 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

Leicester v Man Utd (16:00 BST)

    Manchester United

Man Utd will qualify for the Champions League if they avoid defeat. If they lose, they will still qualify if Chelsea lose.

  11. What do Chelsea need?published at 14:27 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Chelsea v Wolves (16:00 BST)

    Chelsea

Chelsea will qualify for the Champions League if they avoid defeat.

If Chelsea lose, they will qualify if Manchester United win.

  12. What do Bournemouth need?published at 14:23 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Everton v Bournemouth (16:00 BST)

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth will stay up if they win AND both Villa and Watford lose.

  13. What do Watford need?published at 14:21 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    Arsenal v Watford (16:00 BST)

    Watford

If Aston Villa win at West Ham, then Watford need to better their result by two or more goals to stay up.

If Villa draw, any Watford win would ensure their safety. If Villa lose, a Watford draw would be enough.

  14. What do Villa need?published at 14:19 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

West Ham v Aston Villa (16:00 BST)

    Aston Villa

Villa can guarantee survival by matching Watford's result against Arsenal - unless both of those teams lose and Bournemouth win at Everton.

    Rob Green
Former West Ham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

These are some of the most nervous days, and the best days, I had as a player. I enjoyed the pressure - everything's riding on it, it's brilliant. You do realise that it is one of those afternoons when a mistake will cost the whole season.

  17. Seems a while agopublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

It's 351 days since this elongated, extraordinary season started.

Here's what happened on day one...

Manchester City began their quest for a third successive Premier League title with a resounding win at West Ham in a game that saw the video assistant referee play a significant role.

VAR, introduced to the Premier League for the first time this season, was used several times as Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick while Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero, from a retaken penalty, also netted in a 5-0 victory for the champions.

Harry Kane twice struck late as Tottenham overcame resilient Aston Villa 3-1 at the Tottenham Stadium. Spurs, who finished fourth last season, fell behind to a ninth-minute John McGinn goal before they equalised courtesy of a brilliant strike from their £53m club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

  19. How are final positions determined?published at 14:07 British Summer Time 26 July 2020

    TableImage source, BBC Sport

If teams finish on the same points then goal difference comes into play. Aston Villa's victory over the Gunners took them to -26, a single goal better than Watford and Bournemouth's -27.

If they still cannot be separated then goals scored comes into the equation, with Villa netting 40, Bournemouth 37 and Watford 34.

If teams still remain tied then a new addition from this season sees the use of a head-to-head record between two clubs, with the team collecting the most points finishing higher up the table.

Going further still, should teams still remain deadlocked then there is the highly unlikely scenario of a play-off taking place at a neutral ground.
