At last Glasgow City make an impression on the match as a good passing move shifts the ball to Krystyna Freda, who clips the outside of the post with a shot. That's much more encouraging.

Lee Alexander will feel better about that one - the City keeper dives to her left to turn Joelle Wedermeyer's shot from distance round the post. Lena Goessling delivers the corner from the right but thankfully for City the headed effort by Alexandra Popp misses the target.

No changes for Glasgow City as the match resumes.

Let's see what happens in the second half. Even at the end of a normal season it would have been a tough match for City, but they have found it too big a step up in fitness and class to trouble Wolfsburg.

It's going to be a long second half for City. Those two late goals have changed the complexion of the half-time team-talk from somewhat downbeat to seriously gloomy.

We have two minutes of the first half remaining. Credit to City for settling down after those two goals. They didn't allow their heads to go down.

City midfielder Leanne Crichton takes a thump on her knee from Alexandra Popp as she tries to get a passing move going in midfield. The German can't complain about the yellow card for that one.

Swedish midfielder Fridolina Rolfo gets into a good position at the back post for Wolfsburg but she can't quite stretch out her leg far enough to poke it home. Some lovely build-up play there by the impressive Germans.

As the rain in Spain comes down in stair rods, Sam Kerr can't make the most of a rare attack down the right as she fails to pick out a team-mate in the Wolfsburg box, while at the other end Lee Alexander calmly collects a shot by Wolfsburg scorer Pernille Harder, whose shot from 20 yards lacks venom.

Statistics can, of course, be misleading, but the one showing Wolfsburg enjoying 79% possession looks representative of the one-way traffic so far in this match with a little more than half an hour played.

Lee Alexander races from her goalline to try to clutch the cross into the box. However, the hero from the penalty shootout in the last-16 win over Brondby misses the ball and when it's popped into the air "into the mixer" City's Krystyna Freda takes a knock to the side of the head. She's back up and running now, thankfully.
