Since Brentford hit the post, Birmingham have been on top and deserve that.

The pace on the ball in made that and it was a good header. Ivan Sanchez has been the stand-out player for Blues. It was an excellent delivery.

    How are Wycombe not ahead?

Joe Jacobson puts in a free-kick which Darius Charles meets with this head but he hits the crossbar from close range, it then falls to Alex Pattison who smashes a low drive towards goal but is denied by Millers goalkeeper Jamal Blackman.

The hosts have the lead from a corner and we have our first EFL goal of the day!

Ivan Sanchez sends in an inswinging delivery from the right, and Jeremie Bela is on hand to flick in from the corner of the six-yard box.

The Bees switched off and left the winger unmarked, but it was a fine header by Bela.

Bees keeper Luke Daniels collided with his near post in a desperate attempt to keep the ball out.

Based on chances Brentford should probably be ahead.

They hit the post earlier but that was the best chance of the game.

    Birmingham 0-0 Brentford

We've not seen a lot of Bryan Mbeumo today.

The Frenchman got 15 league goals last season, and has just blazed well over the bar from about 15 yards out after the ball fell nicely to him.

There are just over 10 minutes left to the break.

  6. Postpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Wycombe 0-0 Rotherham

Good chance for Rotherham as the ball pinballs in the box from Kieran Sadlier's free-kick and it falls to Matt Crooks but he's unable to turn it home.

Decent game so far, great tempo to it.

We are close to the mid-point of the first half at St Andrew's, and it's been a fairly even game so far.

Birmingham have looked organised under new boss Aitor Karanka, but Brentford have not been anywhere near as good as the slick side we saw towards the end of last season.

  10. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Birmingham 0-0 Brentford

Birmingham survive a scare at the back.

Brentford winger Sergi Canos bursts into the box and causes chaos with his pull back.

The first Bees man can't turn it goalwards and then Josh Dasilva's effort hits a Blues defender and has the fizz taken out of it before falling into the grateful arms of Zach Jeacock.

    Wycombe 0-0 Rotherham

Oh hello, that's a bit cheeky from Wycombe's Joe Jacobson.

The left-back, Wycombe's play-off final match-winner, has a crack from a free-kick in his own half to try to catch out Rotherham keeper Jamal Blackman but he sees it over the bar.

    Birmingham 0-0 Brentford

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Birmingham 0-0 Brentford

Brentford are forced into a substitution in the eighth minute.

First real chance of the game and it falls to the hosts.

Blues winger Jeremie Bela cuts inside on the edge of the area and unleashes a low right-footed shot.

It's curling into the bottom right-hand corner and Bees keeper Luke Daniels palms it behind for a corner.

  16. Postpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 12 September 2020

    Wycombe 0-0 Rotherham

Big chance for Wycombe early on - Scott Kashket breaks from a long pass over the top, drills in a low cross but Daryl Horgan puts it over stretching for the ball.

Bright start from the Chairboys but they should be 1-0 up.

It's been a fairly quiet start in the second city.

Blues debutant Zach Jeacock has had an early touch of the ball but hasn't come under any real pressure as yet.

The 19-year-old must have a few nerves between the sticks.

There's currently a break in play as Brentford midfielder Mathias Jensen needs some treatment for an injury.
