    FT: Viking 0-2 Aberdeen

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes was a happy man when he joined Sportsound. "I thought the speed in the team was really important and getting the first goal puts that bit of pressure on the home team. It wasn't straightforward, we had to defend and have full concentration, but when we get the second goal it knocks the stuffing out of them."

It's a massive let-off tonight. But I'll tell you that Stephen Robinson won't be happy with his players. First half, Motherwell were excellent. They controlled the game and got the goals. Never mind giving away the penalties, their all round play was terrible second half. Motherwell are lucky to go through...

    FT: Viking 0-2 Aberdeen

Aberdeen set up a Europa League tie with Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon by beating FK Viking in their second qualifying round match in Stavanger.

Ross McCrorie's fine strike from the edge of the box - his second in as many games - put the Scottish Premiership side in front before the break.

In an open game the Norwegian hosts posed a threat, but Ryan Hedges' goal directly from a corner sealed victory.

Their reward is a trip to Lisbon to play for a spot in the play-off round.

Is this where managers earn their corn? The respective bosses have a word with their goalkeepers and penalty takers. Is it comforting words to ease the nerves or some verbal fire to strain that extra sinew?

"It's a lottery now," booms BBC Sportsound pundit Billy Dodds.
