Don't go anywhere because we've got the fourth round draw coming up.

Yes, I know, confusing. We still have to play the third round. But we're finding out who plays who in the fourth round. Without knowing who is in the fourth round. Because we have only just found out who is in the third round.

The chance does come after some neat build-up play down the right. It's Alexis Mac Allister who is lurking on the edge of the box.

Brighton have done the job. Portsmouth are down and out but they're still having to defend.

It's 11 men behind the ball. Brighton will flick it around, see whether they get any opportunities, but are otherwise content to enjoy some possession.

    Few corners from Portsmouth.

Jason Steele punches the first away then pulls off a stunning save to claw a header from Sean Raggett off the line!

One for the cameras. He plays it cool afterwards too. Nice.

This is the kind of information I know you all needed to know.

  14. Postpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 17 September 2020

    Brighton 4-0 Portsmouth

It's Preston North End who will be hosting Brighton in the third round. It's been a good start to the season from Graham Potter's side, in terms of performances.

A comfortable win here tonight it seems and they gave Chelsea a good showing despite losing 3-1 in their opening Premier League fixture.

GOAL - Brighton 4-0 Portsmouthpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 17 September 2020

    Viktor Gyokeres (70 mins)

It's nodded into the feet of Viktor Gyokeres in the box. He uses his body to hold off the defender then spins him.

The keeper sees it late and by the time Gyokeres gets the shot away, there's too much power on it for him to react.

Smart turn, smart finish and Brighton are cruising.

So much space now for Brighton.

Dan Burn is invited to bring the ball out from the back. Nobody chases him down so he has a crack from 25 yards.

Hit with power but always going wide. 'A defender's effort.'

  19. CLOSE!published at 21:05 British Summer Time 17 September 2020

    Brighton 3-0 Portsmouth

    It should be 4-0!

Tom Naylor with some incredible defending! It's curled in to the back post, nodded back across goal and the Portsmouth midfielder somehow turns his head to flick it up, off the line and out for a corner.

He was diving too and ends up in a heap in the back of the netting. Heroics!

    Bernardo

    Game over.

It's a thumping header at the near post from Bernardo, who gets across his man and meets the corner delivery from the right.

    No stopping that.
