    West Ham 1-0 Hull

To be fair to Hull, they play some pretty stuff when they do get the ball for any length of time. But it lacks a punch. They've barely offered anything going forward.

  2. Friends reunitedpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

Luton v Man Utd (20:15 BST)

Luton midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe is hoping to see some old friends tonight.

He is a former United youngster and was Paul Pogba's central mdifield partner when they won the 2011 FA Youth Cup.

The 27-year-old hopes to talk to United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer too.

"He was my reserve manager for a year or so before he left so I had a good relationship with him and it will be nice to catch up," Tunnicliffe said.

"He had the characteristics of Sir Alex Ferguson and you could see he would go on to be a manager - but to be United manager so soon I would not have said that."

On Pogba, he said: "I have played alongside him quite a few times a while back but to play against him would be quite fun and I am sure he would say the same.

"Everyone can see he is world class. I study players and I have seen him in training but I am not the same player when I was 17 and I don't think he is the same player as he has got bigger and stronger. I have an idea (how he plays) but it is up to me to stop it."

    West Ham 1-0 Hull

West Ham enjoying a lot of possession, with Hull seemingly happy to contain and try and strike on the break. They've done a lot of the containing and not much breaking, though, so far.

  4. 'Man Utd biggest club in world'published at 19:56 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

Luton v Man Utd (20:15 BST)

Luton boss Nathan Jones says Manchester United remain the "biggest club in the world".

"Whatever changes they make they're extremely strong - 11 different internationals. Realistically, it probably is the biggest club in the world.

"They have unlimited finances, they're a fantastic squad and it's a great opportunity for us to test ourselves against them.

"The real shame is having no fans here because it would've been a wonderful one for our fans to see."

Yet more covid cases in football. Worrying. And reflective of what we are being told about the country in general.

We lost one game this evening because of the virus. I suspect it won't be the last.

West Ham have just released a statement, external saying manager David Moyes is one of three people to test positive for Covid-19.

Defender Issa Diop and midfielder Josh Cullen were the other two who returned positive tests and were withdrawn from this game around 45 minutes before kick-off.

West Ham said: "The club’s medical team were informed of the test results as the team were at London Stadium preparing for this evening’s Carabao Cup third round tie against Hull City.

"The manager and both players immediately left the stadium and have returned home.

"All three, who are asymptomatic, will now follow Public Health England and Premier League guidelines and protocols."

The upset is on. Newport have been the better side and had more chances. Watford have barely had a sniff. Newport are well worth their lead.

    Robert Snodgrass

Fine goal. Against his former club too.

Andriy Yarmolenko chips the ball to the left side of the box, where Robert Snodgrass is waiting to volley into the corner. Lovely stuff.

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

What a decline this is for Watford. From Premier League to being totally outplayed by a League Two club. What odds them becoming another club that falls down the leagues?

    West Ham 0-0 Hull

West Ham are camped in the Hull half. The Hammers move the ball along the edge of the box, looking for an opening but when it does finally come Ben Johnson fires a low cross behind all his team-mates, alleviating the pressure.

  16. INJURY TIMEpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 22 September 2020

Two minutes added on but Newport are looking comfortable at the moment.

    West Ham 0-0 Hull

Best chance of the game so far. What a moment it could have been for young Harrison Ashby, too. He does so much right, collecting the ball on the right side of the Hull box before cutting inside a man. His shot, though, is too close to George Long, who saves.

    West Brom 0-0 Brentford

Brentford are away down the right as Dominic Thompson's pace allows him to reach a long ball forward. He sizes up his options but gets his cross all wrong, firing it over the heads of everyone in the box.

GG in DC: As a Spurs supporter I'd rather let Orient through with a bye! Unfortunately this will be the first of many cancelations. This season will be a total mess sooner rather than later.
