Luton 0-3 Man Utd
Manchester United
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to Sky Sports on the positives in tonight's performance: "Well, going through is the big thing. There are some positives, the keeper [Dean Henderson] does his job, we scored some nice goals towards the end, apart from that it was a good workout."
On Henderson's save: "That is probably the job our keepers sometimes have to do, you have to make saves when needed and David [de Gea] has done that for years and Dean did that today."
On resting players: "We just have to take it day by day and game by game. I didn't want to give [substitutes Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood] more than that because we will have a hard day tomorrow."
On Jesse Lingard amid specualtion over his future: "I thought he was bright, he was getting closer to a goal and he had the legs and he was bright and busy today."
On transfer news: "We are working with what we have now and then let's see what happens. We will give updates if something happens."
Luton 0-3 Man Utd
Luton Town manager Nathan Jones speaking to Sky Sports:
"It flatters them massively. For 85-86 minutes I thought we were outstanding and then they bring Rashford and Greenwood on. They push on when we are trying to get the goal back.
"It took a penalty and a bit of a nick to put them in the lead. Throughout the game, structurally how we worked and the quality we showed, I am so proud of the team.
"It was an unnecessary penalty, because if we defend well in those areas then you don’t concede. You stand up stay on your feet and see it out.
"I didn’t feel we had a massive problem. We grew into the game and controlled possession against a top side.
"I’m beaming with pride and 3-0 flatters them. It puts a gloss on it which makes me sick in the stomach but apart from that I could not be any prouder.
"It was a great foray in the cup, three games and then we came up against a top side and now we are looking forward to the league."
Manchester United have taken (23) and scored (19) more penalties in than any other English league side since the start of last season.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Luton (W9 D2). Luton last beat United in March 1987 in a top-flight game.
Luton 0-3 Man Utd
Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata speaking to Sky Sports: "It is one of those games where if you win you did what you had to do and if you lose it's a mess. We did a professional job today, we didn't concede a goal, we scored three goals and we played some good football. It was important to win after our first game in the Premier League which we know wasn't good enough."
On goalkeeper Dean Henderson's important save at 1-0: "It was very important because it was 1-0. He did a great save and somebody also cleared the ball on the line. I think we did OK. We have all not been training together for too long and now it is important to get the rhythm back and to get confidence. The confidence comes with results."
On his and his team-mate's fitness: "To be honest I felt fine and I think most of the guys felt OK. I think we did OK physically but for me it is very important in the mind - if you are confident and if you believe in what you are doing and get results then the body will follow."
Juventus have signed former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid.
It's a one-year loan for 10m euros, which can be extended by another year for another 10m euros, which can then be made permanent for 35m euros.
Remember when loan deals used to be simple?
Two United legends there. *Goes to google Ernest Mangnall*
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won 50 of his 92 games in charge of Manchester United. Only Ernest Mangnall (78 games) and Jose Mourinho (81 games) have reached 50 managerial wins in fewer matches for the Red Devils.
Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
If Man Utd can bring in someone like Jadon Sancho, I am sure they can have a good season. I know people are moaning about Ole a bit, but it's only one game in.
I thought Henderson was brilliant and he will put pressure on David de Gea.
They did the fourth round draw before the third round (obvs...). The games are next week...
Lincoln or Liverpool v Leicester or Arsenal
Millwall or Burnley v Manchester City or Bournemouth
Brentford v Fulham or Sheffield Wednesday
Fleetwood or Everton v West Ham
Bristol City or Aston Villa v Stoke or Gillingham
Leyton Orient or Tottenham v Chelsea or Barnsley
Newport v Morecambe or Newcastle
Preston or Brighton v Manchester United
I would say 3-0 is maybe a tad more than United merited but there was no doubt they deserved to win the game.
They visit Preston or Brighton in the next round. Those guys play tomorrow.
Luton 0-3 Man Utd
Manchester United get their first win of the season.
Mason Greenwood (90+2 mins)
Flattering.
Mason Greenwood cuts into the box, does a stepover and curls a nice effort past the keeper into the far corner.
Luton 0-2 Man Utd
Marcus Rashford is denied a second by James Shea, who has had an excellent game in Luton's goal.
