Gary in Royston [20:50] is spot on with converting AWB. Not only is he great defensively but it would negate the worst part of his game currently. I just don't think OGS is a good enough manager to do it!

    Everton 1-1 West Ham

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

West Ham have gone in at half time and David Moyes has sent his team out to respond as quickly as possible and it’s only taken 25 seconds.

Terrific bit of build-up play, it’s the first bit of quality from West Ham inside the Everton penalty area.

The ball’s laid off back to Robert Snodgrass who’s found the top corner. Game on.

Brighton have gone to more of a 4-4-2 as Juan Mata tests Jason Steele from a Manchester United free-kick. The Seaglls now win a free-kick of their own. Get the big men up!

Good result for City and a clean sheet to boot. Still a way to go though after that hammering by Leicester but it's a start.

That Robert Snodgrass effort has put a different complexion on the game.

The Scot could not have hit that shot any better.

Carlo Ancelotti's team-talk has gone out of the window.

    Robert Snodgrass (46 mins)

Well Leon Osman did say that West Ham had ended the first half well - and they equalise inside about 30 seconds!

Robert Snodgrass gets the ball 20 yards out and just drives it into the top corner. A screamer!

United needing a CB who is quick and can defend 1 on 1 yet we don't seem to be in the market? Could we already have someone we can develop into that player in AWB? Bayern turned a left back into a CB??

    Gary in Royston

I'd like to be the first to congratulate Ben from Salford [20:42] on his achievement. Well done, Sir.

    Brighton 0-1 Manchester United

    Steve Sidwell
Former Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Brighton need to be quicker, they need to be more explosive when they get into those wide areas and drive into the box.

They've not really tested Dean Henderson. The shots that have come in have been flimsy or over the bar and they haven't worked him enough.

The rain at the Amex must have increased exponentially over half time as we're in a spray situation. Poor visibility if you're following somone.

Bernardo does well down the Brighton left and Eric Bailly chucks himself into a hefty challenge, he gets it spot on and wins it cleanly but that could have been bad news.

Any bit of decent play stems from Mata in these cup games, surely he should be in the squad for League games?

VAR might have got involved Steve Sidwell but he was onside so it would still have been given. I text in every week and never have my comment uploaded so not holding my breath it will happen this week.

James: United are a better side when Pogba isn't playing (at least in the current format they use). Mctominay & Fred were wonderful for large parts of last season. They deserve the chance to play in the big games.

David Moyes has a bit of work to do with his virtual half-time team-talk.

Everton by far the better team.

At one point, Hammers coach Stuart Pearce appeared to be covering his mouth as he spoke on the phone from his perch in the stand even though he was wearing a mask.
