City are pushing forward but Spurs are edging closer to a much-needed break.

Tottenham just seem to exist to spoil Man City's party - 1981 FA Cup Final, 2019 Champions League Quarter Final, etc

    An anxious Man City fan

Spurs relying on City profligacy. Risky tactic but then City aren't ruthless are they?

Kevin de Bruyne's vision is something else.

He has little margin for error as he attempts to pick out the run of Raheem Sterling, and his cross is almost inch-perfect for his team-mate who just can't quite control it in front of goal with an outstretched leg.

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

Giovani Lo Celso's corner is poor and fails to beat the first man.

Not what his side needed at all there.

Five minutes to go until the break...

    Corner to Spurs.

They need to make rare half-chances like this count today...

How is this 0-0? Riyad Mahrez has Hugo Lloris at full stretch once again. We were right behind that I thought it was in.

Lovely stuff once again from Manchester City.

Fernandinho plays the ball right to Riyad Mahrez, who doesn't need to think about his next move.

He takes one touch and lets fly from the edge of the box, but again misses the target. Third time lucky?

    Almost a Riyad Mahrez special!

The Algeria winger takes aim from the right and sends a ferocious shot just wide of the far post.

Would it be fair to see this is a Mourinho-like Spurs performance? They haven't played with the necessary bravery.

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs are furious that Ruben Dias has not gone into the referee's book for a late tackle on Harry Kane there.

Spurs have shown they can stretch City at the back once they get going - they've just not been allowed to do it very often at all.

I have no idea how Manchester City are not ahead.

Raheem Sterling gets in behind the Spurs defence, he's at a bit of an angle and attempts a chipped shot towards Hugo Lloris' far post - but with the Frenchman charging out towards him his shot travels across the face of the goal and out for a goal kick.

Two great blocks have kept Spurs in this. Phil Foden must have thought he had scored but it was miraculous defending.

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

After Tottenham's only meaningful foray into the Manchester City half, about eight minutes ago, we've returned to attack against defence for the time being...

Sergio Reguilon receives a yellow fro a poor tackle.

    Almost!

Phil Foden thinks he has scored the opener from Kevin de Bruyne's cross, but his shot is deflected onto the post by a last-ditch sliding tackle.

Desperate stuff from Spurs, but it somehow remains goalless.

    Man City 0-0 Tottenham

Aymeric Laporte gets himself into a right mess as Lucas Moura catches him in possession.

Moura looks set to race clear of the City defence but he's fouled by Laporte before he can get away.

Spurs are demanding a card is shown but the referee isn't interested.

It's Kevin de Bruyne to take it and... it hits the wall.

Now then, this could spell trouble for Tottenham.

Giovani Lo Celso pushes Kevin de Bruyne in the back a couple of meters outside the Spurs penalty area.

It's fairly central and certainly in shooting range.

De Bruyne and Mahrez stand over it.

Thomas Stockting: Many people, including myself, have downplayed the Foden hype for a while now. In the last few games especially he is truly making me eat my words. Hands down one of the most exciting players to watch.

Paul Carney: Phil Foden reminds me of George Best these days.

Ashley Tezoo: I can’t be the only neutral that is bored of watching a City ‘siege’ for the opening minutes of cup finals?! Just looks like Spurs are almost waiting to go 1-0 down...

Zack Steffen comes out to punch the corner clear. Spurs rescue the ball, but Toby Alderweireld drags his low shot wide.

    Better.

    Some attacking intent from Spurs!

Ryan Mason's side break forward at speed, and Serge Aurier's cross is put out for a corner by Ruben Dias.

Can they make something of this now?
