FT: Dynamo Kyiv 0-2 Juventus
Alvaro Morata scored twice as Andrea Pirlo's Juventus opened their Champions League campaign with victory at Dynamo Kyiv.
Morata followed up Dejan Kulusevski's shot to fire in the opener and sealed the win with a well-taken header.
Juve were without Cristiano Ronaldo following his positive coronavirus test and initially struggled in his absence.
Federico Chiesa and Ronaldo's replacement Kulusevski both had first-half shots saved by Georgi Bushchan.
The Italian champions also lost experienced defender Giorgio Chiellini to what appeared to be a hamstring injury before the break, shortly after he had headed just wide from a corner.

Entertainment data company Gracenote says Manchester United have a 51% chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Simon Gleave, head of sports analysis, said: "Manchester United have got a very rough draw with two of last season's Champions League semi-finalists in their group.
"Both Paris St-Germain (sixth) and RB Leipzig (10th) are ranked by the Euro Club Index above United, who are 12th.
"No other group in this season's Champions League contains three of the best 12 teams in Europe,so someone is missing out."

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, speaking to BT Sport: "We worked very hard to get here and we want to approach it in the right manner.
"I can always rely on Reece James and he can offer a lot going forward. Against a team at this level you don't always have your own way so Thiago Silva's experience will be great in that respect."

Fred must be putting in some kind of performances in training to keep getting selected in front of pogba, vdb and matic.

United are not ready for the CL this season, and are still work in progress. They won't get anywhere near the final knockout stages, but it will be valuable experience for the team. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. Just wish he'd give Van de Beek a start!
Dave
Absolutely delighted to be watching Man Utd in the Champions League again. Wish VDB was starting though, he deserves it.

Chelsea come up against Europa League champions Sevilla at Stamford Bridge tonight in Group E.
Having spent £220m during the recent transfer window, the Blues are seventh in the Premier League and have won only two of their opening five games.
Manager Frank Lampard said: "I'm aware of the stats and the other stat is we've conceded the second fewest shots.
"It helps to narrow down the issue. It's something we're aware of with recruitment and on the pitch with the players to make sure we set up well.
"We want to concede less, as do all teams at the moment."

Paul Pogba gets a hard time but he brings it on himself. I think Pogba has everything Manchester United need but we haven't seen it from him. One of the biggest problems that people have with Pogba is his body language, his body language is terrible when things aren't going right. He came into the side when Bruno Fernandes first came in and he was outstanding. He was outstanding because he got the ball and passed it, he worked really hard. That was the partnership that Manchester United want.
Then he went back to his old self, not tracking back, holding the ball, not challenging people, that's the Pogba that United do not want.

For a club once revered in Europe, Ferencvaros have had to wait patiently to earn their place back among the continent's elite.
But tonight, 25 years since the Hungarian champions last graced the group stages of the Champions League, they return to the competition with a visit to Barcelona's Nou Camp.
The Budapest outfit have been handed a dream draw that pits them against Barca, Juventus and head coach Sergei Rebrov's former club Dynamo Kyiv.
They are already five games into their European campaign and are the only side to reach this stage having started in the Champions League first qualifying round in mid-August...

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba "has everything" to win the Ballon d'Or in the future, says former team-mate Ander Herrera.
The Paris St-Germain midfielder, who left Old Trafford in 2019, is preparing to face his old club tonight.
"There is no other like him - one on one, box to box. He has everything to win the Ballon d'Or if his club fights for major trophies.
"There is a lot of talent, more consistent. Also with [midfielder] Bruno Fernandes, they have definitely improved.
"United are progressing. They have signed the right players, I don't think they are going backwards."
Barcelona v Ferencvaros (20:00 BST)
Barcelona (and Lionel Messi) will come up against Juventus (and Cristiano Ronaldo) in Group G of this season's Champions League, a competition they have not won since 2015.
They kick off their campaign against Hungarian side Ferencvaros tonight. And they will have to take on Italian champions Juve as well.
But Koeman played down Barcelona's chances of helping Messi to another win this year.
"When you're at Barcelona you always want to be there fighting for trophies, be it in La Liga or Europe," said the former Netherlands manager.
"We aren't the favourites, but we can go far."

Martin: I'm very much afraid this could become a rather embarrassing evening for United...
Seth: This line-up from Ole is too defensive! But my question is, what exactly does VDB need to do to start a game? It's very disappointing how he's using him so far.
Man Utd going with 1-7-3 formation tonight. Warn PSG that there'll be a fairly large bus parked in their stadium tonight.

We asked, you voted, and it was a landslide.
Defending the Champions League has proved a tough ask down the years but a whopping 37% of you think Bayern Munich will do just that this season.
Only one other side hit double figures, with 19% of you thinking Liverpool can go all the way again.
Manchester United (8%) and Chelsea (4%) fared less well.

Chelsea's defensive issues are so bad that they need to score several goals each game to stand a chance of winning, says captain Cesar Azpilicueta.
They have conceded nine times in five Premier League games this season and were 2-0 and 3-2 up against Southampton on Saturday before drawing 3-3.
"When you're weak defensively sometimes we feel like we have to score three or four each game," Azpilicueta said.
"I see football as a collective. When we don't score, as a defender I think how can we put our attacking players in better situations.
"Through a season you are not going to be winning 3-0 or 4-0 every week. You have to work to get results and at the moment we have to improve that."

Manchester United, who last won the Champions League in 2008, and PSG are joined in Group H by Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir and German side RB Leipzig.
A total of 32 teams from 14 countries have been drawn into eight groups of four and will play each other twice (home and away), with the top two from each group qualifying for the knockout rounds.
The eight third-place teams drop into the Europa League at the last-32 stage.
The last-32 stage to the semi-final of both the Champions League and Europa League tournaments will consist of home and away legs.

Former Manchester United first team coach Rene Muelensteen, who was at the club when they won the Champions League in 2008, told BBC World Service midfielder Paul Pogba needs to step up his game.
"I mean, at the end of the day, with players, it's all about confidence and reassuring them really where their strengths are, and making sure that they also do the other part of the game," he said.
"We all know Paul's strengths is on the ball going forward and being an attacking threat, but in the modern game you have to do the defensive side of the game as well, and that is sometimes where Paul falls short in that respect.
"It's like a two way thing - the staff, the coach can help him - but Paul is old enough to look at his own performances and say to himself 'I've got to step it up here. I'm better than this. I can do better than this. And this is the platform to do it.'

Phil Jones and Sergio Romero have turned into Manchester United outcasts.
The pair were omitted from the club's 25-man Champions League squad, today they have been left out of their Premier League squads as well.
Jones has been injured, so that may have been expected. But Romero has always served the club well. Now it seems he needs to find a new club.
