    Ajax 0-1 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Ajax dominating this second half so far - they're in control and Liverpool are looking to counter attack. Much like Ajax were in the first half, Liverpool are very much looking for those mistakes from Ajax, knowing that they've got that lead to protect.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Man City 1-1 Porto

Sergio Aguero tries to play in Raheem Sterling with a dinked ball played with the outside of his boot. It doesn't quite come off as Porto clear, but nice idea.

The visitors make a change with goalscorer Luis Diaz replaced by Wilson Manafa.

  7. Postpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Ajax 0-1 Liverpool

Liverpool are really struggling to find any attacking rhythm with Ajax players quick to close down the player on the ball.

Sadio Mane's attempt to break into the box after playing a one-two with Andrew Robertson is read by David Neres, who cuts out the pass.

  8. Lukaku scores for Interpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

Inter break the deadlock against Borussia Monchengladbach and guess who has scored?

It's goal number eight for the season for Romelu Lukaku who finds the net from inside the six-yard area.

Inter have been threatening. Will the Germans respond?

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:11 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Man City 1-1 Porto

Kyle Walker has to be alert to avoid running into trouble in the Manchester City defence under pressure before Agustin Marchesin produces a fine one-handed save at the other end of the pitch from Ilkay Gundogan's first-time effort.

Hard to believe Antonio Conte is 51 but I reckon the Inter boss could still do a job on the pitch. His movement retrieving a ball which had gone out of play was lightning quick.

  11. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Bayern Munich 2-0 Atletico Madrid

Atletico think they have pulled one back straight away as Joao Felix smashes in a volley throgh Manuel Neuer but it's chalked off.

Much like the Real Madrid 'goal' earlier on, it's called back as Luis Suarez was offside and in the keeper's eyeline.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Ajax 0-1 Liverpool

    So close for Ajax!

The hosts attack straight from the restart and Davy Klaassen lets fly with a strong effort from the edge of the area. Adrian is beaten but the ball bounces off the inside of the post and away from danger.

    An early warning for Liverpool.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane: "I did not see the team as I wanted and when you do not see the team as you wanted it is your fault.

"Luckily we had a reaction in the second half because they don't deserve that, they are champions and it bothers me. I am responsible and I have to look for solutions because that cannot happen.

"We have a match every three days .But hey, there is no excuse. These are decisions that I have made and I have to find what will lead us to become strong again and win. And I have few days ”.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric: "We were not up to the competition. We improved in the second half, but it was not enough.

"We lacked confidence. We have to improve in the following games. We have to be together.

"It is a tough defeat. It is good that El Clasico is coming, we have to be together and trust ourselves, we have not forgotten to play football.

"El Clasico is always different and we will be at the level of the game "

  17. Aguero ends his longest scoring droughtpublished at 21:00 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Man City 1-1 Porto

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

Nothing is normal about watching football at the moment - I've never been within earshot of Fernandinho for 45 minutes before, and if the Latvian referee spoke Portuguese I think the City substitute would be in trouble.

But at least you can rely on Sergio Aguero to restore some normality. His penalty was not just his first goal of the season, it was his first goal since 4 March - 231 days ago - and ended the longest scoring drought of his career.

One thing is for sure - Fernandinho enjoyed that moment a lot more than he did some of the ref's decisions in the first half.

  18. 'Ajax have had better chances'published at 20:58 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Ajax 0-1 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liverpool fortunate to go in at 1-0 at half time when you think of the chances Ajax have had. Fabinho cleared one off the line, Dusan Tadic should probably of scored. Ajax look dangerous on the counter and are constantly looking for somewhere to break Liverpool down.

Ajax have created better chances than Liverpool.. They're playing a perfect game because they know that Liverpool will cut them to pieces at some stages. They don't want to just go on an all out press, they take their time on the press and they wait for a mistake from Liverpool and as soon as that mistake comes they break in numbers.

Matt: Ajax the better team. Liverpool hugely lucky to be ahead. Feels like they'll inevitably concede.

Joseph: With the form Fabinho is in tonight he looks like he can fill that Van Dijk sized hole in Liverpool's defence!

Paul: Fabinho an absolute rock at the back in the first half. Maybe we should have been playing him there with VVD all this time...

  20. Fabulous Fabinhopublished at 20:56 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

    Ajax 0-1 Liverpool

Fabinho leads the way for tackles (four) and clearances (four) for Liverpool tonight, with the hook off the line a particular highlight.

His performance so far will give Liverpool fans confidence he can step in for the injured Virgil van Dijk.
