  1. 'Klopp has faith in his players'published at 19:58 British Summer Time 21 October 2020

Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

When you're a manger the challenge is keeping the squad happy and keeping the balance in the squad. Jurgen Klopp has done that well, he was challenged in the summer with Dejan Lovren who decided he wanted to go and play football and Jurgen Klopp appreciated that. He said, 'I understand that and if we get the right fee for you then I will allow you to go because I am happy with the players in my squad.'

If he really wanted to buy a centre half he would've said to Dejan Lovren, you can go but only when I get a replacement in.

Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Fabinho are more than capable of holding the fort for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp has a lot of faith in them.

Aguero had only just joined City a few weeks before that Napoli game, but had already opened his account. He has not stopped scoring since, and now has a club record 254 goals in 371 games, including 34 in the Champions League.

He returned from injury to make his first appearance of the current campaign against Arsenal on Saturday - he is shown above celebrating Raheem Sterling's winner.

Could he score his first goal of the 2020-21 season tonight?

This is the start of Manchester City’s 10th attempt to win the Champions League, but only one of their current players has been there since the beginning.

Following David Silva’s departure at the end of last season, Sergio Aguero is the last man left at the club who lined up here for a 1-1 draw against Napoli in September 2011 in City's first ever CL match.

    Aguero starts tonight, too.
