    Borussia Monchengladbach 0-2 Manchester City

It can be funny watching Manchester City sometimes. They've completely dominated, yet only had six shots.

For all the talk of home and away, it's worth remembering this game is in Budapest for Covid reasons. So it's no more a home game really to Gladbach than City.

    Atalanta 0-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid have had 12 efforts now, only two on target though. Luka Modric fired over a couple of minutes ago.

    Borussia Monchengladbach 0-2 Manchester City

Since the start of 2017-18, no player has more Champions League goals for Man City than Gabriel Jesus (16, level with Raheem Sterling).

Jesus has scored in all five of his Champions League appearances in the last 16.

Borussia Monchengladbach don't learn. It's the same combination again and leaving Bernardo Silva free at the back post. Joao Cancelo again, Silva is brilliant there, he plays it back across. That is where you want to see Gabriel Jesus, getting himself a scrappy goal, he's in the six-yard box and he wants to score, he gets there, he's determined.

    Gabriel Jesus (65 mins)

City finally get their second goal.

A lot of similarities to the first. Joao Cancelo's inswinging cross finds the head of Bernardo Silva. This time though Silva heads it across goal and Gabriel Jesus is quicker to the ball than a defender to stab it home from six yards.

    Borussia Monchengladbach 0-1 Manchester City

That is Alassane Plea's last touch. He and Stefan Lainer are replaced by Marcus Thuram and Valentino Lazaro.

Gladbach are almost level! Denis Zakaria whips a cross in and Alassane Plea sticks his leg behind him to hit an acrobatic backheel just wide of the far post.

That's a shot and a touch in the box.

Imagine Kylian Mbappe or Erling Braut Haaland in this Manchester City team!!

Jesus simply not good enough at the very top level Mbappe or Haaland would have a couple of goals by now

Hate seeing City do so well, but the genius that is Pep, has to be recognised. Strong feeling he's going to be the GOAT.

City almost have to do some actual defending with Alassane Plea open in the box but the pass is poor. Still no touches in the area.

There's still 30 minutes to go but...

The last time a team failed to have a shot in a Champions League match was in March 2012 - Apoel Nicosia v Real Madrid.

If you get to this stage and qualify to this point of the Champions League as a team and yes, they are the underdogs against a very good Man City team but then try and make a game of it - don't go out on a whimper basically.

Go and have a go, don't just sit back for the whole game - try and cause Man City a few problems.

Sloppy play by BMG and Gabriel Jesus is free in the box, or so he thinks. He isn't as free as he thinks and Nico Elvedi slides into win the ball. He should have got a shot off.

Gladbach forward Alassane Plea has a surname made for headlines. Spelled plea and pronounced playa. Anyway he's fouled by Ruben Dias but they can't do anything with the free-kick.
