  1. 'We are up for it'published at 19:47 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

Man City boss Pep Guardiola to BT Sport: "We have a chance to win the game but we need everyone. The second half I'm pretty sure will be different than the beginning.

"We need specific players in that area so we decided on [Raheem Sterling.]"

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "We had some final words but everything is set now. The [players] have to do it. They know it. It's their quality, their commitment and team effort that can decide this match on our side.

"We went for a little bit of height. Timo [Werner] and Kai [Havertz] are good team-mates together. It was a tough choice to leave Christian [Pulisic] out but he is a strong choice from the bench. We need 15 or 16 today to finish this game, hopefully in a positive way. I hope we start strong and can finish stronger.

"There are a lot of offensive players in [the Man City line-up]. I think they will create a double six. It is a big game in Europe so we are up for it."

Just three years ago - then England prospects Mason Mount, Phil Foden and Ryan Sessegnon - were taken around the BBC studio at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Now Mount and Foden face each other in a Champions League final.

It's only the warm-up but Kai Havertz has scored a couple of absolute crackers.

Chelsea might want him to keep a couple back for the game.

Robinson Mathias: Jorginho, Werner, Havertz all those players may seem like weak links in this Chelsea side. City might have the advantage. But that's what makes this game all the more interesting for me. Chelsea have been here before but not City.

Matt Jackson: Not convinced the false 9 will work against this back three. The Chelsea full backs have good pace to nullify any threat in behind - probably from Sterling. Will allow them to push up and deny city space to play in the Chelsea half.

  5. 'City are favourites but I hope Chelsea win'published at 19:40 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Ruud Gullit
    Two-time European Cup winner

I am really looking forward to the final but it feels strange with two English teams playing. It feels more like an FA Cup final than a European game.

I think it’s a shame, and I have always felt the same when the sides are from the same country - it was the same when Real Madrid played Atletico Madrid in 2014 and 2016.

But it says something about how strong the Premier League is, and how they are best at the moment.

City are favourites but of course I am ex-Chelsea, I hope they win.

Me and Gianfranco Zola have different extremes of celebration.

His is much more, er, sophisticated.

Former Chelsea forward Gianfranco Zola is asked how he will celebrate if the Blues win tonight: "I will probably open a very good bottle of wine and quietly drink it. I will sit and relax and enjoy it.

  8. A few ground rules...published at 19:35 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

It's pretty simple. If a winner isn't decided in 90 minutes, we go to 30 minutes of extra time. Then it's a penalty shootout.

Each side will be allowed five substitutions, with a sixth permitted if we go to extra time.

As we saw in the Europa League final on Wednesday, it's the best out of five in the shootout but it goes to sudden death if it remains level.

VAR will be used, while City have been designated the 'home' team, which means they will play in their traditional sky blue and white colours.

  12. How Tuchel turned it aroundpublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport reporter

Thomas Tuchel comes across as a deep thinker and someone who continually strives for improvement, but he is also a manager who likes a laugh.

It would be a victory not only for his coaching credentials, but also his man-management, which allows him to push his players to their maximum with a smile on his face.

Would you have started Fernandinho? Hit the thumbs.

  14. 'Fernandinho one of the greats'published at 19:26 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You need your leaders and Fernandinho is that.

What he has achieved, he will go down as one of the Premier League greats.

Roy Keane and Patrick Vieira were enforcers and he can drag their team up, you want him standing next to you in the trenches.

It is a HUGE call not to start him tonight.

  16. 'Not sure there's a Plan C'published at 19:24 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

I'm going with City to win it, and win it in 90 minutes.

Chelsea haven't faced City's big hitters yet, but they have already played a couple of different ways to beat Guardiola's side in the past few weeks.

Yes, Thomas Tuchel got it absolutely right tactically each time, but there won't be a surprise element to how he lines up his team this time.

He has showed Pep Guardiola his Plan A and his Plan B, and I am not sure there is a Plan C.

Ayush: It doesn't get bigger than this. Waited 9 years for this moment. Irrespective of the result, a moment to savor. I love you Chelsea.

T.I: Chelsea to win, Pep has gone mad with his lineup.

  19. 'City will be a different beast'published at 19:17 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

Man City will be a "completely different beast" to the side beaten twice by Chelsea in the past few weeks, says Jermaine Jenas.

"I don't think Chelsea can take much from those games.

"This City team is a juggernaut. This is a completely different beast Chelsea are coming up against."

    Chris Sutton agreed.

"Whether the last two Chelsea victories will have any psychological impact on City, I don't see it that way.

"City played their 'B' team - not their strongest team - in those games."

  20. Tuchel out-Pep'd Peppublished at 19:14 British Summer Time 29 May 2021

Man City v Chelsea (20:00 BST)

    Andros Townsend
Crystal Palace midfielder on 5 Live

The two sides have become very similar since Thomas Tuchel arrived at Chelsea.

City are more attacking and free flowing whereas Chelsea like to make the game boring and suck the life out of their opponents.

They are happy to keep the ball when 1-0 up rather than go for two, three or four.

Tuchel got the better of Pep Guardiola in the last two games, he out-Pep'd Pep, if I am a Chelsea player having beaten City in the last two occasions, I am going into this game full of confidence.
