Quote MessageIt's taken 15 mintues for someone to craft a real chance and that's a really big let off for Rangers.
Sporting 1-0 Aberdeen
The Portuguese side celebrate a fine opening goal from 18-year-old Tiago Tomas.
Willem II 0-0 Rangers
The home side hit the bar!
Allan McGregor fumbles a shot from distance that he probably should have held on to, before Vangelis Pavlidis' wild shot from close range hits the bar.
A let-off for Rangers really, the Greek striker should have scored.
Sporting 1-0 Aberdeen
After a sluggish start, Derek McInnes' men are threatening. Plenty balls are being flung into the Sporting box, but Tommie Hoban's tame header, straight at the keeper, has been the best of it.
Willem II 0-0 Rangers
Rangers left-back Borna Barisic picks up a very early yellow card after a challenge on Dries Saddiki, who already looks like he could be a handful down the right with his pace. The resulting free-kick is dealt with easily by Steven Davis though as he heads clear.
Acolatse
Acolatse has been a threat for the away defence and he makes them pay this time as he comes off the left to play a neat one-two with Sallalich before powering a finish into the far corner.
Sporting 1-0 Aberdeen

Quote MessageThey started the Motherwell game poorly and never recovered. They've not started well again here and this could be a long night if it continues.
Tiago Tomas
An early blow for the Dons in Portugal. Loose play is pounced upon by the hosts, with 18-year-old Tiago Tomas showing composure to slot the ball away.
Beer Sheva 2-0 Motherwell
The home side almost make it three with a stunning strike from Sallalich, but it's just inches over.
Willem II 0-0 Rangers
Rangers start the game on the front foot, and a long ball from Connor Goldson reaches Ryan Kent in the penalty box, but he is unable to control the ball to get a shot away.
Sporting 0-0 Aberdeen
A good interception from Ross McCrorie and the big Aberdeen midfielder is off and running. He whips in a good cross but the ball bounces off the arm of Jonny Hayes to relieve the pressure in the home penalty box.
Willem II 0-0 Rangers
The Ibrox side have been formidable in the Europa League qualifying stages under Steven Gerrard. They are yet to lose a single game - never mind a tie - since he took charge.

Quote MessageThat's such a shame for Motherwell, they've played so well tonight. But it's silly from Gallagher, that's a penalty all day long and Carson has no chance of saving that one.
Rangers and Aberdeen are up and running.
Celtic are through and it looks like Motherwell are going out.
Willem II v Rangers (20:00)
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard explained his decision to bring in goalkeeper Allan McGregor in place of Jon McLaughlin.
“Experience, know-how, big saves in big moments in the last two journeys Allan has took us on," Gerrard told Rangers TV.
"He’s played a major part in the success we’ve had the past two years. He’s certainly looked sharper in training. I’ve got two keepers to pick from, it’s a tough decision every game, but I’ve gone with Allan tonight.
“You’ll see two technical teams. We need to keep their front four quiet, we need to be aggressive at all times. We know it will be a difficult game, but for me it’s about our performance and what we can give.”
Josue (pen)
Josue slots the penalty away, sending Trevor Carson the wrong way.
It's hard to argue with the decision, Declan Gallagher clearly dragged his man to the deck as a cross came into the area.
Beer Sheva 1-0 Motherwell
A second booking in a matter of moments for Declan Gallagher and the home side have a spot kick to go with the red card.
Beer Sheva 1-0 Motherwell
The home side come within inches of doubling their advantage as Liam Grimshaw's block falls to Varenne, but his 20-yard strike drags just past the post.
Willem II v Rangers (20:00)
If they prevail this evening, Rangers will be at home to Galatasaray or Hajduk Split next week.
Willem II were fifth in the 2019-20 Eredivisie when the league was suspended in March and then subsequently declared void.
The Dutch top tier is just two games into the new term and the Tilburg side have won one and lost one either side of a 5-0 victory over Rangers' old pals from Proges Niedercorn.
Greece striker Vangelis Pavlidis is the danger man and has four goals from the opening three matches.
Rangers will need to keep a close eye on Vangelis Pavlidis
