  1. CLOSE!published at 15:18 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Luton 0-0 Stoke

First chance of note at Kenilworth Road goes to Luton.

Elliot Lee is played through on goal at an angle but can only find the side-netting when he really ought to have at least tested Stoke keeper Adam Davies.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:17 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Swansea 0-0 Huddersfield

Another chance for Swansea as Jamal Lowe is sent through.

One-on-one with keeper Ben Hamer and it's the goalie who comes out on top, deflecting a powerful effort behind for a corner.

    Warning signs for Huddersfield.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:16 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Rotherham 1-0 Norwich

Rotherham goalie Jamal Blackman is earning his keep since the Millers went ahead - making good saves from Marco Stiepermann and Adam Idah.

Norwich are being pressed well by the hosts but are occasionally breaking through and creating good chances.

    This is an open one.

  4. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Birmingham 0-0 Sheff Wed

Not much to shout about in the West Midlands either as former Blues boss Garry Monk returns to St. Andrew's.

Sheffield Wednesday's Adam Reach with the best opening so far, stinging the palms of Birmingham keeper Neil Etheridge.

    Game's a bit stale.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Reading

Boro v QPRImage source, Rex Features

Fairly quiet start to this one at the Riverside but Reading goalkeeper Rafael is forced to tip a couple of efforts over his own crossbar.

The second came off his own centre-back Michael Morrison as the ball deflected off his head from a Boro corner.

Reading along with Bristol City started the day with a 100% record.

  6. goal

GOAL: Wycombe 1-0 Millwallpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Scott Kashket (9 mins)

Wycombe have their first ever Championship goal!

It's a howler from Millwall keeper Bartosz Bialkowski - with the ball at his feet he tries a fancy turn away from Scott Kashket but the Chairboys forward tackles him and the ball goes into an empty net.

Could that kickstart Wycombe's season as they search for a first point?

Good start for visitors QPR at Bournemouth as they force an early save out of Cherries keeper Asmir Begovic.

This could be a long day for Huddersfield, Swansea have raced out the blocks in south Wales.

Norwich try to play out from the back but Clark Robertson nips in and heads into the path of Freddie Ladapo, who slots past Tim Krul to put Rotherham ahead.

The Canaries haven't won since the opening day and that was a poor goal to concede.

  10. goal

GOAL: Barnsley 1-0 Bristol Citypublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Michal Helik (2 mins)

    What a start at Oakwell!

Is Bristol City's 100% start under threat?

Some pretty sloppy marking from a corner for Barnsley from the visitors allows centre-back Michal Helik to head in unmarked at the back post from around eight yards out.

Great start for Adam Murray's side.

    League Two preview

    Paul ScholesImage source, Rex Features

Former England and Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes takes charge of Salford City for the first time this afternoon as they visit Port Vale.

The 45-year-old was named as interim boss on Monday following the dismissal of Graham Alexander.

A few eyebrows were raised when Alexander got the boot... Salford are fourth in League Two and unbeaten this season.

Elsewhere in the division, early leaders Morecambe visit Crawley, while Scholes' former club Oldham are looking for their first win of the campaign at Bolton.

Three other sides are also searching for their first victory... Southend host Cheltenham, Mansfield play Bradford City at home and Barrow go to fellow promoted side Harrogate.

However, Barrow will be without manager David Dunn on the sideline as he tested positive for Covid-19 earlier today.

Forest Green, Walsall and Colchester are all looking to maintain unbeaten starts.

In the day's early League One kick-off, strugglers MK Dons are leading 2-0 against in-form Gillingham in stoppage time.

Elsewhere early pacesetters Ipswich host sixth-placed Accrington, with Lincoln - who visit Fleetwood - and Hull, who are at Rochdale, able to overtake them this afternoon.

Sunderland put their unbeaten start on the line at Swindon while Shrewsbury - the only side in League One without a win - go to AFC Wimbledon.

    Saturday's Championship action

    Swansea celebrateImage source, PA Media

Elsewhere in the Championship, Swansea put their unbeaten start on the line against a Huddersfield side who showed signs of improvement before the international break.

Brentford host Coventry as they start life without playmaker Said Benrahma - who joined West Ham on Friday in a deal that could rise to £30m.

Two managers take on clubs they've previously been in charge of - Garry Monk takes his Sheffield Wednesday side to Birmingham while Nathan Jones' Luton take on Stoke, who sacked the Welshman in November 2019.

And Rotherham will be without boss Paul Warne as they go to Norwich. He's self-isolating after a family member tested positive for Covid-19.

  18. Can Wycombe score a goal?published at 14:50 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Wycombe v Millwall (15:00 BST)

Four games, no points, no goals.

Wycombe's first-ever Championship season has been a rude awakening so far and the visit of second-tier stalwarts Millwall promises to be another tough test.

Gareth Ainsworth's side are hoping to avoid becoming the first Championship side to lose their opening five games since Blackpool in 2014-15.

  19. Forest's Hughton era starts at Blackburnpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

Blackburn v Nottm Forest (15:00 BST)

    Chris HughtonImage source, Getty Images

Having been appointed 11 days ago, Chris Hughton finally has his first game in charge of Nottingham Forest as they visit in-form Blackburn.

The former Brighton boss replaced Sabri Lamouchi, who was sacked after last season's collapse and four defeats to start the new campaign.

Hughton brought in old favourite Anthony Knockaert on loan on Friday's deadline day but he has a task to change the fortunes of a Forest side who have gone 10 Championship matches without a win - a run stretching back to last season.

  20. Cherries hope to ripen to occasionpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 17 October 2020

    Bournemouth v QPR (15:00 BST)

    Dean CourtImage source, Rex Features

Bournemouth sit just a couple of points behind Bristol City and Reading having won three and drawn the other of their first four matches.

Boss Jason Tindall added Spurs defender Cameron Carter-Vickers on a season-long loan on deadline day, but the USA international sits out the visit of QPR today.

Rangers meanwhile will be hoping to add to their one win so far this term. They have new additions Albert Adomah and Chris Willock on the bench.
