Paul Pogba is playing closer to Marcus Rashford now, who's very much the lone frontman. I say closer, he's about 45 yards behind him.

Considering their schedule, this is some day for Spurs. I thought I saw Jose Mourinho really enjoying himself for the first time in ages in midweek. Sure he's loving this.

There isn't much creativity in the Manchester United midfield now. It's obviously a case of not getting beat six or seven.

I'm sure Jose Mourinho will have said go and score six or seven and humiliate Manchester United.

Harry Kane finds Serge Aurier inside the area and he has a shot charged down. The game of his life.

Still think that John Stones, who is out of favour at City, could and should be able to do a job at Old Trafford. Talking about job's Ole is now not looking safe. Getting beat by a poor Spurs team is the last straw!

Alex Russell: Maguire is not a ‘ball playing’ centre back. He’s made his name going on a forward run, passing it backwards and gradually returning to defence, which achieves nothing, as one pass could do the same, and it makes Man U and England vulnerable.

  8. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

Fred is indeed on for the hosts. He'll replace Bruno Fernandes, while Scott McTominay comes on for Nemanja Matic.

Spurs replace Erik Lamela with Lucas Moura.

Maybe Victor Lindelof isn't so bad after all. A good day to miss out if you're a defender at Old Trafford.

Ajay: Maybe what United need most is a couple of decent defensive coaches rather than spending money on new Defenders. Its funny how guys like Evans, Smalling start looking good once they start playing away from Utd. Everyone thought Maguire was good until he went to Utd.

Harry Maguire has got to this level because of hard work and because people have believed in him but you've got to say at this minute in time, should he be Manchester United captain? I can't see any leadership out there. Should he even be in Manchester United's team?

You've got to say the same about Manchester United's other centre halves, I don't see any leadership or authority.

I said earlier if my under 15 team defended like that, I'd take them off. It's schoolboy defending, it's terrible.

Ole lacking passion from the side, just like LvG. No direction or shouting at the players.

Maguire £80M. Dier £4M. You don't need more than a nanosecond to work out who got the best deal.

Blimey - Manchester United have conceded four goals in the first half of a league match for the first time since November 1957, also against Spurs.

Man Utd are a joke, we are an absolute joke. Telles, Cavani - neither will make a difference. We need 2 CBs that want to defend and CMs that will go up and down the pitch. Absolute disgrace to call this a Man Utd team. If Solskjaer isn't supported from the board, he should walk and let everyone know.

  16. 'United have been so poor defensively'published at 17:24 British Summer Time 4 October 2020

    Manchester United 1-4 Tottenham

Before the game I honestly believed that Manchester United had improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

But the defending from Harry Maguire and United defensively, the header for the first goal was pathetic. The free-kick he is on the half-way line and doesn't stand on the ball and block the ball and the other defenders aren't switched on. Then they try and play out from the back for the Harry Kane goal before Maguire ends up in the left-back area for the fourth goal. It's so poor from United defensively.

    Man Utd 1-4 Tottenham

Manchester United have already conceded as many goals at Old Trafford in the Premier League this season as they did in the whole of the 2007-08 campaign.

Just another 17 games to come as well.

As bad as Manchester United have been at the back, they were certainly stitched up by that red card. Both off or none, surely?

The question I would like to ask the referee and VAR in that situation (the Anthony Martial red card) is that Erik Lamela seems to push his arm towards Martial throat. If Martial goes down, would Lamela have got a red card?

Anyone remind me of a big game Pogba performed in, anyone? Not close to world class player.

    Neil, Bournemouth

Looks like Borussia Dortmund have just put Jadon Sancho asking price up after Man Utd performance. They can put the another 50 million and see if United will pay.
