I've lost count of the number of times Diogo Jota has been fouled. He's come under close scrutiny from Arsenal's players. Jota wins his side another free-kick after Dani Ceballos goes in hard.

Ricology: Anyone see Mo Salah tonight?! Very low profile for a surprise pick for this game. Not interested!

  11. 'Gunners are well organised'published at 20:40 British Summer Time 1 October 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Arsenal have been very well organised. Liverpool almost came to life at the end of the first half and created a few opportunities. The game has opened up a little bit more and I'm expecting the same in the second half.

  12. Postpublished at 79 mins

    Aston Villa 0-1 Stoke

Just over 10 minutes remaining for Aston Villa to find an equaliser and take this game to penalties.

The hosts are marginally the better side in these closing stages but not giving Stoke too much of a headache.

Simon: The most pointless, devalued, uninteresting cup competition in the history of football (oh apart from the Nations League). Even in normal times this cup is a terrible waste of time and money and energy. But In the current world it is ridiculous this cup is happening. Most teams play their B-team. So what satisfaction do you get winning this cup? The team that progresses is the loser. Managers can’t wait to get knocked out. Unnecessary strain on squads and resources.

    You ok, Simon?

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Takumi Minamino should score. It's brilliant from Neco Williams. It's a good save from Leno. Minamino only has to tap it into an empty goal. It's an awkward height but Liverpool should be 1-0 ahead.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 1 October 2020

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

    Liverpool should be ahead.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 44 mins

    Liverpool want a penalty!

Diogo Jota goes down right on the edge of the area after a lunge by Dani Ceballos.

    Free-kick says Kevin Friend.

Curtis Jones attempts to cross the ball with a 'rabona'.

    Why not?

Great feet from the lively Anwar El Ghazi as he weaves through the Stoke defence but then shoots straight at Adam Davies in the Stoke goal.
