  2. 'Accies will always keep going'published at 22:30 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Hibernian 3-2 Hamilton

Hamilton manager Brian Rice: "First half, we were sitting off Hibs, making it too easy for them. Second half, we were lively and had spells when we had them under pressure. Then it was a good open game.

"I know we will always keep going and keep going."

  4. St Mirren run 'worst of Goodwin's career'published at 22:23 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin: "We certainly haven't carried a lot of luck in the last six games and I think that was perfectly summed up tonight.

"The overall performance was excellent. The players can be really proud that they put in the level of performance they did. They merited a point.

"There's no getting away from the fact that we have been on a run of six defeats. It's the worst in my career, never mind playing career, managerial career. It has to change, I'm well aware of that."

  5. Magennis deal almost there for Hibspublished at 22:21 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Hibernian 3-2 Hamilton

Hibs manager Jack Ross said before kick off that he was close to signing St Mirren captain Kyle Magennis, a player he knows well from his time in charge of the Paisley club.

The deal for the 22-year-old midfielder should be completed tomorrow, he tells BBC Sportsound.

  6. 'Boyle could have had six or seven assists'published at 22:15 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Hibernian 3-2 Hamilton

Hibs manager Jack Ross is happy with three points but will analyse why it was all a bit jittery at the end.

"We were very good for large parts but we had some elements of sloppiness in the second half and that made the game more challenging than we would have liked.

"Martin Boyle is getting back to the levels he showed in the second half of last season and he could have walked off the park with six or seven assists.

"Ryan Porteous was brilliant in the first half, his reading of the game, his crisp passing. I don't think the penalty and own goal should taint his performance too much. For me, he is a really good, young Scottish centre-half and we should embrace that rather than point out some of his deficiencies. He will undoubtedly improve."

  7. 'Nothing better than a late winner'published at 22:10 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "There's nothing better than a last-minute winner. We were relentless in that last 15, 20 minutes. We went for it.

"The players deserve so much credit. When the question was asked, we rolled the sleeves up.

"We can go into the break feeling good about ourselves."

On transfers, McInnes's answer to whether there would be anyone coming in before the Monday deadline was: "Possibly", but the confident tone makes it sound more like definitely.

The Dons boss said younger players would go out on loan and added: "We would like to do maybe one bit of business before the window closes."

It got a bit nervy towards the end there. But, all in all, it was a comfortable night for Hibs. They've definitely got a good chance of making that third place spot their own.

  11. 'Gut wrenching for St Mirren'published at 21:54 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

That was a real killer blow for St Mirren. Jim Goodwin looks very down, it must be gut wrenching for him. Aberdeen were insipid all night but the big positive is they kept going and eventually got the result.

    FT: Dundee United 1-2 Livingston

    Quote Message

This was a thorougly deserved victory for Livingston. I can't remember seeing a Dundee United side so poor at Tannadice in a long time, they only had one shot on target in the whole game.

  14. 'Dons dig it out'published at 21:42 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    FT: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren

    Tyrone Smith

    Quote Message

There a lot of different ways to a win a game and Aberdeen really had to dig this one out. They were a side transformed after Marley Watkins levelled. From then, it was one-way traffic and you just felt a winner was coming

  17. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirrenpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

Aberdeen leave it late but get the points.

St Mirren were on course for a draw and an end to their run of five straight defeats after Ethan Erhahon's stunning strike was cancelled out by the Dons' Marley Watkins.

But Lewis Ferguson came up trumps in added time to keep Aberdeen in touch with third-placed Hibernian.

  20. Ambrose gets it all wrongpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 2 October 2020

    Big late chance for Livi.

A free-kick finds Efe Ambrose unmarked six yards out, but the defender gets his header horribly wrong and the ball whacks off a defender and rolls to grateful keeper Deniz Mehmet.
