    Lovely play by Williams.

  10. Finland are top... for now at leastpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    HT: Bulgaria 0-0 Wales

I kicked off this blog telling you that Wales were top of the group....

They were then, they aren't now.

Finland's 1-0 win over the Republic of Ireland has knocked them off their perch, at least temporarily.

Wow, Group B4 in the Nations League really is the group of the great entertainers, isn't it?

Republic of Ireland, scorers of two goals in eight matches over the course of two Nations League campaigns.

Bulgaria and Wales, scorers of one goal and two goals respectively in their three and a half games of this campaign.

Who had money on another 0-0?

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    Bulgaria 0-0 Wales

    There we are then.

Lots to like from Wales, but no goals.

Put the kettle on, feed the dog, read the BBC Sport website, we've got a few minutes.

  13. Postpublished at 45 mins

We will have one added minute at the end of the first half.

  14. Wales encouraging - but lacking in attackpublished at 43 mins

Neco Williams and Rhys Norrington-Davies have covered an enormous amount of ground on Wales' flanks so far.

The wing-backs are stretching the game for the visitors, creating space for the front three.

But Wales are lacking a cutting edge in attack. They've yet to really trouble the Bulgarian defence.

Some encouraging signs for Ryan Giggs but he will want to see more purpose and incisiveness from his team when they push forward.

  15. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Bulgaria 0-0 Wales

Still level as we approach half time but I think you'd say there have been more positives than negatives for Wales.

System has worked well, they just lack a killer pass, but remember they are missing arguably their three most important attacking players.

  16. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Bulgaria 0-0 Wales

The past two posts, as self indulgent as they come, should indicate the intensity has rather slipped in this game.

Plenty of Wales possession, but not much penetration.

You know that thing that makes you feel 100-years old?

I just had it when I realised Nikolay Mihaylov is Borislav Mihaylov's son.

I used to watch Borislav Mihaylov play for Reading at Elm Park in the 90s.

We've had lots of possession but the final ball needs to be better.

    We are 30 minutes in.

So... in the interest of honesty.... in my life I've seen about half an hour of Rhys Norrington-Davies. He looks decent to me.

A very comfortable debut so far.
