  2. Hope for no racism as fans returnpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    Bulgaria v Wales (19:45 BST)

Tyler Roberts hopes there will be no cases of racism when Wales return to playing in front of a crowd in Bulgaria in tonight's Nations League match.

With the 44,000-capacity Vasil Levski National Stadium allowed to be 30% full, there could be up to 13,200 fans.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Wales have not played in a game with fans since last year's win over Hungary.

Bulgaria were punished last year for their fans' racist abuse of England players in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

"Hopefully there are restrictions and things put in place to help prevent that type of thing," said 21-year-old Leeds United forward Roberts.

  7. Wales team news - four changes and a debutpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

    Bulgaria v Wales (19:45 BST)

Wales manager Ryan Giggs makes four changes from Sunday’s goalless draw away against the Republic of Ireland, and there seems to be a change in formation to a wing-backs system similar to the one his predecessor Chris Coleman used at Euro 2016.

Most of the changes are enforced. Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is out injured, while striker Kieffer Moore and midfielder Joe Morrell are suspended. Full-back Connor Roberts is the other player to miss out.

Luton defender Rhys Norrington-Davies makes his debut at left wing-back and on the other flank Liverpool’s Neco Williams gets a first start. Chris Mepham returns in defence, with Tyler Roberts leading the attack.

Wales XI: Hennessey; Mepham, Rodon, B. Davies (capt); N. Williams, Smith, Ampadu, Norrington-Davies; Wilson, James, T. Roberts.

    Bulgaria v Wales (19:45 BST)

    Good evening,

Well you just can't stay away can you? You Nations League enthusiast, you.

So here we are again, just three days on from a very forgettable 0-0 draw with the Republic of Ireland, Wales will do it all again in Sofia against Bulgaria.

The difference today? For the first time in a long time and with a hopeful glimpse of the future, Wales will play tonight in front of human fans, though sadly, none of them will be bricks from Wales' red wall.

The bad news for Wales is that they are depleted tonight and will play without a host of big names and any recognised centre forwards.

We've only seen two goals in Wales' 270 minutes of Nations League games so far, so goals galore might not be on the menu... but it's still football, it's still Wales and let us not forget, Ryan Giggs' side are top of the group at the moment....
