    Tim Cahill
Former Everton midfielder on Football Focus

David Moyes doesn't try to change the cycle, he wants a team that fight for everything, that can play a 4-4-2 formation. Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio are brilliant players that can score goals. The players that he's signing are giving him more but it's still early days.

Man City are a little bit in-between. They don't have a leader.

Will they have that concistency? And when it comes to the tough games, will they have that bit extra? I'm not too sure. That is why it's a rebuilding process.

  6. 'Start of a new beginning for Man City'published at 12:27 British Summer Time 24 October 2020

West Ham v Man City (12:30 BST)

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One

Manchester City have had so many injuries, since they went out of the Champions League quarter-finals they've struggled. It's the start of a new beginning with David Silva and Vincent Kompany gone, Sergio Aguero has been injured. They did have a very good game against Arsenal where they kept a clean sheet.

But we're starting to see some potential new partnerships and it's going to be very important for Sergio Aguero to stay fit. Pep Guardiola wants to play expansive football but this is not the same silky Man City we've seen in the past where they were breaking records left right and centre. We will see how good Pep really is now, he's got to rebuild the team. They're not far from greatness but there's certainly some work to be done.

There is work to be done at West Ham. When they do get stretched they are vulnerable, when they sit deep they are ok.

David Moyes will think he has something to work with though, they have got something and that will give David Moyes great joy.

  10. Dry patch for Sergio?published at 12:21 British Summer Time 24 October 2020

West Ham v Man City (12:30 BST)

Sergio Aguero last scored in the top flight against Sheffield United on 21 January. It is his second-longest run of league appearances without a goal in European football - he had a 16-match barren run with Atletico Madrid in 2007.

West Ham really are in great form. Good to see Michail Antonio passed fit. He's been forming some nice partnerships with Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals.

Will they get any joy from Manchester City today?

  12. 'Confidence is almost everything'published at 12:17 British Summer Time 24 October 2020

West Ham v Man City (12:30 BST)

    Manchester City

Manchester City Pep Guardiola speaking to BT Sport:

On picking the same team: "I'm 12 years managing so it was not far. We just decided to continue with the same guys to get the rhythm as quick as possible for some players.

"It was better in the second half [against Porto] than the first one. Sometimes you need time. They are strong team. They are so strong and sometimes you need time."

On West Ham's form: "They are in a good moment right now. In terms of confidence, it is almost everything in football. They have talented players up front. Yeah, but it's another Premier League game at the beginning of the season."

On the busy schedule: "It is what it is. For the teams who play no Europe - it has happened for the last season... You have to adapt. It is what it is."

With packed stands looking a long way off, football fans are having to find alternative ways to watch live games together.

Several clubs are allowing a limited number of supporters to watch matches on TV screens in the hospitality areas of their grounds - as long as they don't have a direct view of the pitch.

Cinemas are showing Premier League matches, offering fans the chance to watch football with popcorn in the dark.

Is this the next best thing until crowds are able to return? And what has the reaction been?

  14. Wilshere on leaving West Hampublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 24 October 2020

West Ham v Man City (12:30 BST)

Jack Wilshere says he had to leave West Ham because he couldn't face the prospect of a year on the sidelines with no hope of playing.

Wilshere's Hammers contract was terminated by mutual consent on transfer deadline day, bringing an end to an unhappy two-year spell at the club he supported as a boy.

The 28-year-old made just 19 appearances after leaving Arsenal in 2018. He hasn't started a Premier League game since August 2019 and admits he is in danger of being forgotten.

But the England midfielder is adamant he has much more to give and is pushing his body through training sessions at his local park to keep himself fit as he looks for a new club.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Wilshere outlined the frustrations of recent months, his determination to find "the right club" and the demands of looking after four kids.

Edinson Cavani is in contention to make his Manchester United debut and a first league appearance since featuring for Paris Saint-Germain in February.

Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood should be available but Anthony Martial is suspended, while Eric Bailly may miss four weeks with a muscular injury.

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa is sidelined with a shoulder injury, with Billy Gilmour the only other absentee.

Get Involved - will title race be closer?published at 12:02 British Summer Time 24 October 2020

#bbcfootball or text 81111 (UK only)

Serene: I think this will be one of the closest title race ever.Though I see Spurs winning this, and either of Man City or Liverpool making the top 4 due to inconsistencies. Although it's still too early to conclude

Antonio will crucify Garcia today Sorry to say it but City will lose with that team The treatment of Stones is a disgrace and Foden on the bench is totally ludicrous

  19. 'Expecting a much closer game'published at 12:00 British Summer Time 24 October 2020

West Ham v Man City (12:30 BST)

Manchester City have an amazing record at London Stadium - they have won every time they've played there and, in sequence, the scorelines have been 5-0, 4-0, 4-1, 4-0 and 5-0.

I think it will be a different story this time though. I am expecting a much closer game.

West Ham come into the game on the back of their brilliant late comeback to draw with Tottenham, and there seems to be a good vibe around the club at the moment.

City have got a lot of injuries to contend with - Fernandinho is their latest player to be sidelined - and so far this season, they are not looking as slick as usual going forward.

    Prediction: 1-1
