Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to Sky Sports: "Well I think it was two teams who played in Europe this week and it showed. If that Stretford End was full we might get that ball over the line. We created half decent opportunities and their keeper made a couple of fantastic saves.
"We've been to Europe, both of us this week, and we all remember what happened to us last time we won in Paris so it was important to us that we could show up against a good team. We kept possession and we put some pressure on them without too many big chances but the ones we got were good ones.
"They played well. they beat us in the FA cup last season but today we were closest to winning. We have a clean sheet, we stopped the home run of defeats. We wanted to win of course at home but I think it is a solid performance after the week we have had - we've had a very good week.
"If we have the Stretford End full behind that goal I'm sure we could create more pressure and more urgency. It is a different sport with the fans here. We miss them. It's the same for all teams but everyone agrees there's a little less in it - the edge has gone. I can't wait to get the fans back."
Liverpool 1-1 Sheffield Utd
Roberto Firmino's last two Premier League goals have come at home, with his previous eight before that all coming away from home.

Almost 200k viewers on this page suggests that PPV is not going so well! It would be interesting to see how many thumbs up (or down) this text generates...

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Even game but I felt after a slow start, maybe 20-25 minutes we grew into the game and played some decent stuff. We missed the crowd behind the goal there to suck the ball into the goal, which happens so many times at this place.
"There were good players at the other end of the pitch. Their keeper made some fantastic saves. the quailty in the defending was very good."
On debutant Edinson Cavani: "He gives us something different to what we have of course. We now have a centre-forward who is different to the ones we already had.
"I've said all the time we have a squad full of good players and good characters but now it's about kicking on after a poor start. The 12 games after we beat PSG last time we were absolutely shocking but this is a decent start.
"I don't think [playing] home or away is a big difference at the moment. I can't wait, it will be great to see the fans back. We have to get them back."

Chelsea
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's a tight start to the season and I think this is just a continuation of that. It was in the final third we lacked today but the clean sheet was a big plus for us.
"Sometimes we want to be flexible, we looked at Manchester United and we had games last season we were the better team but lost to them on the counter attack. Thiago Silva adds quality and we must appreciate that side of the game. There's no doubt we need experienced heads around young players and you saw that today. He demands the right things around him, so we're happy."
On whether Cesar Azpilicueta should have been awarded a penalty: "Yeah, holding is allowed, but headlocks don't go on. I don't know why VAR didn't take long and there's also a monitor to look at. I think if the referee goes to the monitor he gives a penalty.
"Lets see [how the season goes]. [The unpredictable start is] certainly an affect of teams that went into Europe [at the end of last season]. The lads got hardly any time off and we added new players. I don't like to make excuses, but it's true."
Some reaction from OT?

Captivating half.

Oh dear Ryan (20:39). Armchair punter's curse.

In your dreams Ryan from Southampton.

Liverpool 1-1 Sheffield United
It's exhausting just watching the effort being put in by the visitors as they shut down and harry Liverpool. Ethan Ampadu is having a very good game in midfield by the way, we've seen more of him in the back three so far this season.
Liverpool 1-1 Sheffield United
Good save again! Straight from the resumption Mo Salah gets away but Aaron Ramsdale stands tall to shut him out. That one would have been called back for offside.
Roberto Firmino (41 mins)
But there you go! Only takes a second with so much quality on the pitch. A cross from the right is met by Sadio Mane with a powerful header, Aaron Ramsdale makes a fine reaction save but Roberto Firmino is on hand to sidefoot in a rare Anfield goal.
"He's offside!" bellows Ramsdale but nobody agrees and it's 1-1!
Liverpool 0-1 Sheffield United
It's far too early to be thinking about that. But Chris Wilder and Alan Knill will be delighted. This is much more like it from the visitors. Chris Basham and George Baldock double up on the right to defend brilliantly.

Very early to be getting carried away but could we be looking at the unbeaten league run at Anfield coming to an end? Sure do hope so!

Sander Berge weaves on the edge of the area and again goes down, never been a penalty that one. The men with just one point all season are proving a real nuisance though.
Liverpool 0-1 Sheffield United
Another penalty appeal for the visitors as Oli McBurnie is challenged while going up for a header...nothing doing.
Sander Berge is a real threat so far tonight, he's picking up all the pieces in the final third.
Liverpool 0-1 Sheffield United
Well VAR aren't having the night off as they gave that penalty...
Mo Salah gets into the area but under pressure can only whack it over the top. Oh deflected in fact.

ReindeerHotdog: After VAR being perhaps overused in the last few weeks are the officials taking a night off? As fans we just want consistency. It's hard to take this season seriously if the officials apparently can't be bothered to. It's VARcical is what it is...
Liverpool 0-1 Sheffield United
Weirdly, and very 2020y, this is the first time Sheffield United have been ahead all season.
Liverpool 0-1 Sheffield United
Great block! Enda Stevens, who is playing more in the back three than at wing-back today, is out quickly to charge down a Jordan Henderson shot.
